Kessak Thonon — Restaurant in Thonon-les-Bains

Kessak Thonon (not the outpost in Sciez) is tucked away in the corner of what in the U.S. we’d call a small strip mall. And for the longest time, it was only open for lunch. My wife and I finally carved out time in the middle of the day to try it, and we were blown away. Kessak serves up the best Lebanese cuisine I’ve ever had, and in generous portions. We enjoyed it so much, we went back less than a week later to enjoy their newly-inaugurated evening service.

The grilled kebabs were wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. They are served up with excellent hummus, tabbouleh and moutabal, and plenty of Lebanese bread. Surprisingly for France, the only wines available are Lebanese. But they’re of very high quality.
