La Becanerie food and coffee — Restaurant in Thonon-les-Bains

The waitress (or maybe she was the owner I don't know) was busy working on her own in front of house and doing her best. It's a tiny little place and we were very lucky to get a table when we walked in as we hadn't booked (and it was a Saturday lunchtime). I saw countless people come in and out only to be told there was no room for them (as they hadn't made a reservation). This place could be twice the size and be busy as it seems popular.

The waitress was very busy preparing drinks, clearing tables and it took a while for her to take her order (we weren't in a rush luckily) and likewise it took a while for the bill to be given once I'd asked. Once ordered the food did arrive promptly.

I had to send my burger back because I'd asked for well-done but it was extremely rare. I believe this was an error on the chef's part. But the waitress apologised and a fresh one was prepared for me. My partner ate a bit of his lunch and then waited for mine to come back out. It was WELL worth the wait. Wow! One of the tastiest burgers I've ever had. The burger bun was so fresh too. And they serve sauté potatoes instead of chips and they were gorgeous too! My partner had a vegetarian burger and he liked his. We both enjoyed a hot chocolate.

We used to eat here when it was K2, and have now dined twice with the new brand. It's really amazing. Definitely one of the best burgers I've ever tasted.
