Au Bon Petit Bailly — Restaurant in Torcy

We went to dinner here lastnight based on reviews and we were staying in Marriott Disney hotel which is 5 minutes away. It was our first dinner in Paris and I wanted the kids and my wife to have a traditional meal and this place knocked it out of the park. We are from NYC and overlooking the decor in a small family run restaurant was hard at first, but once you get past it…you’ll have an AMAZING meal. The owner(spoke english) could not have been more charming and welcoming to us and the food was excellent. I wanted all of us to try multiple dishes, so I told him to bring out 3 apps 3 main and 2 desserts, I let him chose for a family of 5. Excellent service, Happy atmosphere. The food was splendid! I would really recommend anyone in the area (especially those of you who who are tired of Burgers and bad food at the Disney-Machine) to spend a few hours in this happy cosy family-place. The owners/waiter/cook are wonderful!

We were recommended the place by one of the local waiters at our hotel when we complained about the food we were served. This was the place he would go for a proper French meal. All local, all homemade. Do not expect lavish surroundings. But you will have a proper meal, the way you hoped French restaurants here would be. If you eat up, you might even get desert (you must try the lemon mousse cake!) and have the chance to be served some of their excellent...

Great home cooked food, with large portions( I don’t know how can all the French finish everything 😆) and especially the dessert is super large, I would recommend to just order 1x if you are filler with the main. Menu is simple but tasty and price is obviously very reasonable.

However I was with my 5 year old and there are some “toys” or puppets near the entrance, the gent who owns the restaurant, who was okay up to that point has literally shouted my 5 year old when we were about to pay, who has touched it with a finger to basically not to touch it cause it’s “very expensive”, so shouted my 5 YEAR OLD CHILD.

Now my question is, if it’s so expensive, why put it by the entrance of the restaurant, why?? This left me with a bad vibe...
