O Petit Monde is a hidden gem on the French Riviera. The location and style of the hotel and the food at the restaurant beats most of the places we have been too - and we travel a lot! The things that makes us give them less than 5 stars are small but important ones. The most serious one was that when we were checking out of the hotell lot’s of things were added to the bill that we didn’t buy both from the restaurant and they also added an extra hotel night. When we pointed this out they acted like they were annoyed and it was so hard for then to get us our money back (except for one great guy who spoke English well) and we didn’t get an apology. Another thing is that the bathroom on our room (number 3) can’t be closed which means doing number two is very awkward... Another thing that’s missing is enough light in the room, especially the bathroom, it is extremely dark and I had to go outside to put on makeup. And last but not least there are no fridge so having access to cold drinks and store any type of food is very hard. This put aside we still loved the place and would like to come back another time! And don’t forget to eat the truffle pasta when you are at...

After finding the nearest parking space almost 1Km away, I walked to the hotel to explain how it was not possible to carry our luggage this far. To get to the hotel I had to walk down a large incline to the beach front. No mention in the advert that you needed to be an experienced climber. On arrival I found the public shower next to the entrance and the "Private Beach" advertised had around 100 people on it. Considering there are only five rooms that is an awful amount of people per room !!! Having discussed the matter with the "receptionist" I was assured after some discussion that no charges would be made as I wanted to cancel the booking. A few days later a 145 euro charge appeared even though on booking.com it showed 108 euro. I am afraid if you stay here with anything more than hand luggage its a non starter. I have never had any problems with booking.com before, but clearly this hotel misleads its potential customers and then charges them....
