La Paillote — Restaurant in Toulon

We booked this for my partners birthday. Was obvious how new the 'restaurant' was, but previous reviews are rather generous. Was less of a restaurant, more a student beach shack wannabe based on a swamp campsite.

We were 30 minutes late to our booking, but they had already run out of most things on an already very reduced menu by 8:30pm. We were told it was a very busy day for them and that they were new. In future I would advise holding back a few portions of each item on the menu reserved for bookings.

No napkins on the table, had to request these even after our food was delivered and then we were given a glass with some tiny bar napkins! This is just a massive no.

Not one suitable dessert was available that we could order to surprise my partner with a candle.

Staff just stood on their phones, sat down and even smoking around the bar area. We were even sure that our waiter was under the influence of something.

Booked this as we like to support new openings and the vibe seemed really nice in the pictures we saw, but this was a massive let down and was an awful experience for my partners birthday.

(Not so much a complaint, but I hope that this can be taken as constructive criticism as the place has some potential)

J’ai eu l’occasion de déjeuner à la Paillote à Giens et c’était tout simplement excellent

Nous avons pris un tataki et un thon grillé et tout était parfaitement cuit bien assaisonné et plein de saveurs Le serveur était adorable il nous a mis à l’aise tout de suite et a vraiment contribué à ce qu’on passe un super moment

Le cadre est magnifique en pleine nature une vraie parenthèse détente

Petit conseil évitez d’y aller en période de mistral car tout est en extérieur donc ça peut vite devenir moins agréable
