We had a terrible experience at this restaurant, I’d go so far as to say the worst I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Usually if tood is bad the restaurant can redeem itself with good service by recognising the issue and rectifying it in a way that meets the needs of the customer. In this instance there was no recognition that the kids mussels were full of seaweed and broken shells. It felt like we’d bee served the dregs of the catch. The manager just shrugged off my complaint to say it was normal! He then offered another fresh bowl, but as anyone will know following a bad experience you’d rather have your money back or an alternative. There wasn’t any willingness to do this and the manager just walked away angrily. I asked the waitress if they could consider addressing this with some free ice creams for the kids- a small but reasonable gesture in my eyes. The waitress came back to advise that they still considered the plate of mussels served was fine. By this point I was getting quite impatient and upset at the suggestion it was still fine and no accountability from them. After raising my voice the waitress decided to show me up and draw attention to me by shouting that I wanted to present to everyone how bad my meal was even though I’d only had “2 broken mussels” on my plate. This was a lie as I’d taken out all the broken ones to show her and there were at least 12~15. The manager then invited me in the kitchen to speak with the chefs - a tactic to intimidate me and he showed me the plate of broken shells having thrown away all the ones that I’d got out to show them, so had got rid of the evidence. He accused me of lying. My sons love mussels, it’s actually their favourite meal so for my 10yr old to say they were the worse mussels he’d had I knew he was telling the truth. I refused to pay for one of the dishes and the manager said he would call the police!!! It was all totally unacceptable and unnecessary in my eyes, having come from a service industry background, a simple acknowledgement, followed by an apology and swift rectification with the offer of 1 ball of ice cream for each of the kids would have nipped it in the bud and we’d have likely left happy customers. Instead the stubbornness and ego of the manager prevented him from doing the right thing. Absolutely...
Read moreA very honest review. Rarely have we had such bad food. We went for a restaurant with good Google review ... well we were cheated!
The tapas board was flimsy and sad. Moules frites were ridiculous, in total there were 12 mussels (see photo), the worst was that they did not taste of anything at all. The french fries that we bought (as extra) was made from directly bad potatoes... The burger they had spent more time on, but still it was boring and sad, the bottom bun was soaked in liquid and therefore boring and not worth eating. Their drinks were good but also paid well for. The overall price was way too high for the quality. 85,80€
The service was kind and nice.
Unfortunately, I do not think we were just unlucky. With the Google review score, they must have many friends.
Avoid this...
