Le Shardana — Restaurant in Toulon

This is a typical French restaurant with a price competitive menu for 45 euro with 3 choices per course: starter, main and dessert. Although I had not understood this from the name but the restaurant has a Sardinian focus. We were a party of four so we selected each dish at least once. All of the dishes competed for best choice. We had a lovely bottle of white wine from Sardinia, Tenute Olbios 'Lupus in Fabula' for 50 euro. As a seasoned traveler, I can recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly. This is one of the best meals I have eaten and can withstand tough competition. In terms of price quality, this is the best restaurant in Bandol. Fine dining without being overly pompous.

I’m not sure if it’s fair calling Le Shardana a hidden gem but I’m for sure ever grateful that we’ve found this amazing restaurant.

They featured a simple menu with 3 options each for starter, main, and dessert. There were no bad options, every course and every dish was perfect.

Seemingly there was only the head chef and the waitress running the show but they still managed to mesmerise 8 or so tables of people like clockwork. There was great attention to detail, everything was beautifully presented and the flavours were exceptional.

Ma compagne et moi avons passé un moment tres agréable. Nous avons été accueillis par une serveuse souriante et très agréable, le service à été impeccable tout au long du repas.

L’amuse-bouche à base de chair de crabe etait tres bon. Les entrées que ce soit l’artichaut ou le carpaccio de poulpe étaient délicieuses, fraîches et bien assaisonnées. Merci à l'équipe pour sa flexibilité : j’ai pu demander à retirer un ingrédient dont je n'aime vraiment pas le goût en prenant ma commande sans que cela ne pose le moindre souci ce qui est très appréciable !

Les plats étaient tout simplement excellents. L’épaule de porc, fondante à souhait, était sublimée par sa sauce et accompagnée de légumes encore croquants, juste comme il faut. Les pâtes au pesto verde et gambas étaient également un régal, avec des gambas légèrement relevées et une sauce pleine de goût.

Et que dire des desserts ? Entre la seada et le dôme au chocolat totalement irrésistible, on a fini le repas sur une note gourmande mémorable.

Même le café était parfait : fort, bien serré, exactement comme on l’aime.
