Coming off the street on a blustery early winters day, it’s raining and I’m hungry.
After driving around trying to find the place I feel would fit this mood, I decide upon the restaurant “Ça se mange comme ça” 1 Rue Louis Breguet, 31700 Cornebarrieu .
This isn’t the first time I’ve been here, and decide to entrust them with my table for one.
Greeted with a smile I was seated. Hanging above my head the signs of todays menu : Filet Mingion de cochon Pin d’épice de miel et soja Velouté d’automne avec ça tartine rustique Cassoulet de poulet provençale
The vegetables soup caught my eye after being delivered to the table next to me.
Whilst sitting peacefully with my glass of wine I watch the waitresses animate the room, their joviality, attention to details and humour is contagious. Jokes are flying round the room from customer to customer, their banter between them shows their professionalism and equal friendship. Each table is being observed attentively and no detail is left unattended.
The ambiant musique of Latin modern signer songwriters plays on the screen to my left.
The food arrived. I am instantly in admiration of the detail and complexity of it. Roasted seeded bread layered with roasted courgette, raclette cheese, smoked bacon and roasted asparagus delicately topped with a variety of watercress I’ve never seen. Visually this little toast has fulfilled my appetite, the soup is a deep earthy green and to taste, the opposite of its consistency. Whilst appearing thick and wholesome, to the pallet, it is light and balanced with the hint of roasted chestnuts wrapped in the the warmth of the roasted courgette and aubergine with a satisfying savory kick.
A true delight, from the ambiance to the food, I walked away feeling befriended, full and content.
A strong recommendation to anyone wishing to experience an authentic and friendly atmosphere with exquisite food at the most absurdly low price for its value. This meal cost me 24€ with desert a glass of wine...

Je suis venu avec un appétit d’ogre et je repars comblé… et peut-être avec une petite envie de piquer la recette du chef. Chaque plat était une explosion de saveurs, à tel point que je me demande si la cuisine n’a pas un pacte secret avec des sorciers gastronomiques.
Le service ? Aussi rapide et agréable qu’un serveur qui aurait lu dans mes pensées (ou mon ventre). Bref, ce restaurant mérite un 5/5 sans hésitation, et peut-être même un 6/5 si je pouvais. À bientôt pour une autre session de plaisir culinaire… et de...

Si vous êtes à Cornebarrieu, 'Ça se mange comme ça' est une adresse incontournable. Ce restaurant, géré uniquement par Salomé et Paul, est une vraie pépite. Paul, en cuisine, prépare des plats absolument délicieux, tous sans exception, et Salomé assure l'accueil et le service avec une efficacité remarquable. Le dressage de la salade est un régal pour les yeux, et la bière Victoria belge est à tomber ! Malgré leur petite équipe, ils offrent un service impeccable, même quand le restaurant est complet. Un grand bravo à eux deux pour leur passion et leur travail...
