To sum it up..Food is quite the high-end Brasserie type. Good enough if you’re looking to bring colleagues staying near the airport for a French dinner. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good for what it is but for a foodie experience at it’s price, I wouldn’t recommend. I came here expecting it’s gastro haute-cuisine. I wasn’t surprised to be disappointed though, as it’s not a restaurant that’s Michelin rated. I thought maybe they were just overlooked, but no. Since the restaurant is just next to the airport, expect a lot of people in suits here talking about the aerospace industry. Foreigners talk loud so expect the noise. Place is not spacious and tables not far enough from each other. Decor made me feel like I was in an expensive restaurant in the 90’s. They have a sommelier that is also the one at the cashier when handling your check, she is perhaps the owner. She didn’t have the attitude of a staff. Waiters are quite friendly but in general I felt weirded by them, can’t put my finger on it exactly but they seem figgety. Our waiter even joked it’s hard for her to speak English and gave a nervous laugh before she explained the menu, but I’m quite 50-80% of the customers here every night are foreigners. Half the room on the evening we came are foreigners, and I could here her waitress-esque flirting with them in English. Anyhoo, just the staff vibe was a bit off. We have reserved Le Cantou for our small wedding lunch. The staff was very helpful for months before the lunch. On the first visit to the restaurant they themselves proposed to make us a profitroli cake. They were calling us numerous times to confirm the number of guests and ask about decorations, they accomodated to all the dietary preferences and were extremely mindful about the allergies. They happily included a cheese course to the group menu. They served all vegetarians their own thought out amuse bouche and plates. They prepared separate meal for very young kids. Our group has stayed well beyond the lunch service and the restaurant staff was pleasant all the way through satifying literally every single request. The portions were very generous and they were willing to alter the plates upon request. The garden is beautiful and apart from occasionally passing planes, it is just perfect for a celebration. The place in a nice garden and the house is an old nice and charming building. The closeness to the airport and HQ of “Airbus” is practical for those who come from there.

The service was friendly but in my eyes not highly professional (serving dishes at different moments, explaining the dishes so long that they were already cold, forgetting the text for the text). The food was nicely prepared, the products fresh and from good quality. Nevertheless I was not satisfied with the taste combinations of the food and well the way the food was prepared can be further improved (frying time of different products, usage of oil, “crispness” of vegetables). As well the wine suggestion for my dishes did not fit that well and could be highly improved, especially with such a great variety of wine list.
