GUSTO — Restaurant in Tours

Little variation on restaurant menu. The waitress asked our table of 9 to all order the same dish as otherwise it was complicated for the kitchen! The chicken was undercooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. The order was not what had been asked for when it returned. The kitchen staff spent the evening arguing with the door open. Another wrong order was brought and part of the coffee order forgotten. The bill was blithely divided by the number of people to "make it easier" for the waiting staff. A rather chaotic experience in all despite a charming waitress battling...

Made a reservation by phone 2 hours before. (21h as 20h30 was not possible anymore, outside) Upon arrival we were told that it wasn't true, that we didn't have a reservation. They told us we must have mistaken this place for the pizzeria next door and told us to go there as I probably called the wrong number and they couldn't help us. Basically threw us out of the place. In the pizzeria next door they obviously couldn't help us either as we didn't have a reservation there. We ended up eating elsewhere. (Checked the phonenumber afterwards, it was correct so I didn't call...

We can't write a real positive review for this location because we've experienced only 50% quality with the dishes. The chicken filet was okay, but the veal cutlet was very chewy, not quite eatable. So we felt half cheated... Also, the accompanying vegetables were sort of cheaply served trinkets: a jar of cold vegetable broth straight from the fridge, some sandy rocket salad hastily put on the plate... The tomato slice, though, was good. It's very difficult to recommend this restaurant. No longer our choice for future visits to this...
