Le Belvédère, Brasserie Contemporaine — Restaurant in Troyes

I loved this place, and especially the service, over here I think I was being treated equally than I would be if I lived in the royal family, our waiter, Nehdi (i can't remember what he completely said if its Aehdi, Nehdi, Mehdi) but honestly he was the best waiter I've probably ever had, when I had trouble picking, he gave explanations which put me on point with the sauce and steak i ordered, also it arrived as I wanted. He also gave me a suggestion for my dessert, which was the Crunchy Finger, Which I enjoyed thoroughly. We were seated upstairs, with an amazing view of the lake, and with salt and pepper in nice shakers and cups. I'm a very simple guy for drinks, so I ordered a lemon inside a glass of water, and even that was the highest quality water as the lemon did not affect the pureness of the water. The effort put in this restaurant is amazing, please congratulate the chefs and waiters for their effort to making the food as professional as they can, and as if the customers were family. I ordered an Angus steak with french fries and some sort of sauce. Have dined here many times. But this occasion was a massive let down, waited a very long time to be served we ordered drinks including the wine to go with dinner. It took nearly an hour to receive drinks although the wine was brought out that should of come with food. After asking many times the drinks came at the same time as food. As for the food I had steak tar Tare it was nothing like I had had before just a drizzle of sauce no egg and nothing else not even Tabasco which apparently they didn't have the two ladies had the prawn dish which should have been cooked in batter but they received 3 prawns each cut in half to make it look bigger, they both had violent stomach problems when we got home we ordered Irish coffee's that were served in straight glasses that were clearly for another type of drink. Defenitly a place to avoid. Ok, the view is nice. But the food and service are terrible. Not only because there is very little flavor and inspiration, the food’s quality is horrifying. I’m talking lettuce that’s gone bad. Even “fresh” fish with a weird taste and smell. Very cheap products also. We should’ve just send every dish back to kitchen, but we didn’t and have regretted it since.

A can normally accept bad service (not cleaning tables, taking away dishes/ glasses between courses, letting you wait 30 min to order or pay the bill), but no, not if the food is that bad. I hope me and my girlfriend can forget this experience very quickly. Please people, go somewhere else. Or if you don’t believe me. First order a starter and just wait and see.

Visited in a Monday evening in June. Had two courses for two people with four drinks total....
