Le Tonneau — Restaurant in Troyes

We were looking for something with a local flavor and not far from the hotel. Google suggested this place. The bistronomic spirit is well maintained. Short menu, seasonal products. The food looks pretty good, but unfortunately the taste is not so good. Everything is very bland. We walked around the old part of the city for a long time and already had several aperitifs before dinner, so we were not very hungry and asked for a main dish for sharing one portion, but the waiter ordered two portions. The dish called Fish and Chips has nothing in common with the classic one, the taste of fried potato wedges, it was not The Chips, was strange, as if cinnamon was added to it, and this is definitely not what you expect. The waiter/bartender works alone for the entire restaurant, so be prepared to wait a little for your order. Resto aux apparences gastronomiques. Grosse déception dans les assiettes. Et on était 4 à penser pareil! Ça manque de fantaisie, de peps, de croquant, de caractère, et même tout simplement de saveur! Fade pour ne pas dire insipide. Et la présentation laisse parfois même à désirer (une tranche de terrine un cornichon, 2 feuilles de salade et un trait de crème de vinaigre balsamique) Les ris de veau en plus donnait l'impression d'avoir été réchauffé au micro-ondes. La carte des vins est assez déséquilibrée au niveau des prix. Par contre il faut reconnaître que le cadre est agréable, bien qu assez bruyant, les serveurs font bien leur boulot, et les plats sont à des prix assez raisonnables (dommage pour la qualité en bouche) Personnellement je ne le recommanderai pas, mais peut-être était-ce un mauvais soir...

Cute little restaurant with Italian influenced cuisine. The service was awesome and the food was really well made and tasty. They seem to change the menu every week/month which is cool. The beef tartare and the lamb are recommended! Would definitely...
