The worst Georgian restaurants experience ever. Even some Tbilisian arrogant waiters did not do such a poor job.
4 young slowpokes were overlooking 5 tables at the moment of the visit which took them more a than an hour serve a one man dinner. While the neighbours terraces were almost fully packed atm.
No greetings, no help with a table allocation. 20 minutes to take an order accounting the fact I grabbed the menu myself. The first dish was served at the same time as to the couple arrived 20 minutes later than me or 40 minutes since the arrival. And it was not that hot which proves it was cooked long ago but just left chilling. The second dish was served in another 15 minutes already almost chilled. While during that time all the slowpokes were either serving empty tables with cutlery or cleaning some glasses which, of course, was the urgency.
The toilet was covered all over with pees like it was left by a kid nurtured by an irresponsible mom.
The pierce terrace just a pierce terrace, no fancy decore at all.
The shore side is full of trash, which also relates to all the places of the venue and which “surprised” me the most. It can be cleaned within one day but the people prefer to work and meet customers surrounded by that trash.
I was attracted by a certain dishes selection however all the places are overprice. Accounting the basic level of the place and the inhospitable guest services which has been proved by others reading through the reviews I would not recommend this place at all.
The chance to taste some fish dishes, which is not the case for central Batumi, by surprise, the view is what attracts to this spot.
The culmination of the visit was the bathing act of a barrel body granny entering the water and the kids making fun of throwing the trash from the beach land into the water just in front of my table when I was about the second meal.
Some images posted by people though relate to another place which may be confusing when selecting a place. Skip it. Give a chance to...
Read moreWe recently visited the restaurant with a group of friends. While the restaurant had a pleasant ambiance and a promising name, there were a few aspects that fell short of our expectations. Firstly, the prices at the restaurant were a bit higher than anticipated. This came as a surprise and may be something to consider for future visitors. The food service also left something to be desired. As a group of four, we expected our dishes to be delivered in an organized manner. However, they were brought to our table randomly, resulting in a rather disjointed dining experience. Furthermore, when we ordered fries as a side dish, they arrived when we had nearly finished our fish. We kindly requested for them to be taken back to the kitchen, and to our surprise, they were still added to our invoice. However, upon bringing this issue to their attention, the problem was rectified promptly. Moreover, I would like to mention that the veal barbecue we ordered was not great. It seemed as though it was simply preheated on the grill, lacking the desired flavor and tenderness we expected. Overall, I must say that the food and service at Black Sea - Fish Restaurant were average at best. While the quality of the food was acceptable, it did not stand out in any particular way. The service, although prompt in resolving our invoice problem, did not meet the level of attentiveness we had hoped for. We had higher expectations based on the restaurant’s name and reputation, but unfortunately, it did not meet them. I believe there is room for improvement in terms of both pricing transparency, the overall dining experience, and the preparation of certain dishes. Thank you for considering my feedback, and I hope it contributes to the restaurant’s ongoing efforts to provide an exceptional dining experience to...
Read moreWe visited a restaurant near the fish market where you can buy fresh fish and have it cooked in one of the nearby places. The concept is great, but unfortunately, this particular restaurant was a big disappointment.
We brought river trout, seabass, and red mullet. We specifically asked for the trout and seabass to be grilled and the red mullet to be pan-fried. Instead, they deep-fried all the fish — and clearly in old oil, as it left a bitter, unpleasant aftertaste. They completely ruined the fresh fish we carefully selected ourselves.
The other dishes from the menu were average at best. The only thing we really enjoyed was the walnut salad — that was genuinely tasty.
The service was especially frustrating. We ordered orange juice and specifically asked twice if it was fresh-squeezed. The waiter confidently said it was “natural orange juice.” In reality, what we got tasted more like powdered drink.
We also wanted to order Chashushuli. The waiter said they would check availability and add it to our order if possible. No one bothered to come back and inform us whether it was available or not. Only when we asked ourselves, halfway through the meal, we were told: “Well, we said we would add it if it was available. It’s not.”
Overall, the experience was very disappointing. The service was careless, the cooking was sloppy, and they ruined the main reason we came — the fresh fish. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t...
