5 stars A refined dining experience in the heart of Batumi – a must-visit.
Senate was the first restaurant we visited upon arriving in Batumi, and it set the tone for our trip in the best possible way. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, with careful attention to detail in both interior and exterior design. Even the rest area and smoking lounge offer a level of refinement rarely seen — the latter boasting a panoramic view of the city that’s particularly enchanting at night.
A standout feature was the thoughtful gesture of assigning us a waiter from our home country. This not only made communication effortless but added a personal, hospitable touch to the experience. Our waiter was professional, attentive, and proactive in offering recommendations tailored to our tastes. He also introduced us to the restaurant’s loyalty app — a smart addition for locals and returning guests.
Live music enhanced the ambiance without overwhelming conversation, and the overall mood in the restaurant was vibrant yet relaxed, with many guests clearly celebrating special moments.
The only minor drawback for me was the trend of adding pistachio to multiple dishes — not to my taste, though others may find it delightful.
Throughout our stay in Georgia — including visits to Kutaisi and Tbilisi — Senate remains firmly in our top three dining experiences. Highly recommended for anyone looking to combine atmosphere, service, and culinary...
Read moreUnfortunately our visit to this beautiful restaurant lead to a very unpleasant situation. We wanted to go up to the terrace to have dinner so at the entrance they told us that to go up you need to pay 60GEL for a man and for a lady the entrance is free. The lady at the entrance told us that there is a club and we said we don’t want to visit the club, we want the terrace to have dinner, so the lady told us that yes there is a lounge and terrace so we paid entrance fee and what a surprise was waiting for us when we went up by the elevator when the security at the door to the terrace stopped us and didn’t let us to the terrace because he said it’s closed but we still could see people sitting there. He offered us to go to the next room where is a club which we didn’t want to visit since the beginning and we explained this at the entrance. Then one gentleman approached us and we explained the situation so he went to look for the manager but the lady who went up to speak to us was another person from the one who spoke to us at the entrance. Then we just passed by them and we went out. Here how we spent 60 GEL just to enter and left after 5 minutes, the problem is not in the amount we spent for the entrance but the whole misunderstanding happened after that. Nobody tried to stop us or to explain anything, the team at the entrance of the restaurant need to have better...
