I am Indian we came from UK and we wanted to eat Indian food. So we searched on Google and went to The Taj Restaurant in Aurich. We ordered Indian food, but it was really bad and smelled like it was two days old. When we told them about the poor quality, the owner (a Punjabi man) did not listen. Instead, he rudely said there was nothing wrong with the food, started arguing with us, and even shouted at my British friends.
It was a terrible experience. The cooks were from Bangladesh, yet he claimed he had Indian cooks who could prepare authentic Indian food. What we received was not even 30% close to the real taste of Indian food. He is simply using the name “Taj Indian Restaurant” to mislead the local community.
• He did not accept card payments, and there was no sign stating “cash only.” • When we asked for his bank details to transfer money, he refused and even claimed he didn’t have a bank account — unbelievable! • He also refused to accept British Pounds in cash. • We had to search for a cash machine at 8:30 pm, far from the restaurant, withdraw Euros, and travel back just to pay him. • When we paid in cash, he shorted us €5. When we asked about it, he just twisted his face, gave no answer, and didn’t even apologize.
While leaving, my British friends told him that because of his rude attitude and poor food quality, they would never come back. He arrogantly replied, “I don’t care if you come back or not, I make tons of money from local people.”
This was completely unacceptable and pathetic behavior. As an Indian, I can confidently say — if you expect authentic Indian food here, forget it. Once you eat his so-called “Indian food,” I guarantee you will feel...
