Le Café — Restaurant in Bad Dürkheim

Found this place online and decided to give it a try, since my husband and I moved to the area a little while ago. We took our friends from the Netherlands and definitely did not regret it. The service was outstanding. The staff was not only super friendly, but immediately switched to English, once they heard us talk in English. They offered us also local specialties to try, like the „Saumage,“ (no, it‘s not a pig‘s stomach), as well as their local wine and home made apple cider, made with apples from the region. Customer Service ZERO! We are three turists passing by and the driver wanted to take a coffee because was feeling asleep. He order a coffee and a slice of cake. We were all accompaning the driver at the table when the owner approached us to say we couldn't stay having ordered only 1 coffee and 1 cake. The coffee was already in the porcelain cup but the owner preferred to throw it away and prepare another to take away in order to kick us out of her place. We left the place shocked!...

Mein Mann und ich sind letzten Sonntag, also zur Wurstmarktszeit, spontan zum Mittagessen im Le Café gelandet und wurden sofort freundlich empfangen und gefragt wo wir sitzen möchten und ob wir Mittagessen oder nur Kaffee und Kuchen wünschen. Speisekarte ging sofort mit an den Tisch und nach der Bestellung kamen die Getränke auch recht schnell. Zwischenzeitlich hatte es begonnen windig zu werden, so dass die Jalousien im Biergarten eingefahren werden mussten und wir in der Sonne saßen. Ohne, dass wir etwas gesagt haben, wurde sich für diesen Umstand entschuldigt und gefragt, ob wir in den Schatten umziehen möchten, super Service! Das Essen kam zeitnah und hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Die Cordon Bleu waren definitiv selbst gemacht und mit einem schön kräftigem Käse gefüllt, die Bratkartoffeln dazu waren auch sehr lecker. Zum Nachtisch haben wir uns dann noch je ein Stück Torte gegönnt und fanden diese auch super lecker. Insbesondere die Sachertorte war, in eine Marzipandecke gehüllt, nicht so trocken wie man sie klassisch kennt und auch die Pralinentorte hat voll überzeugt. Zuletzt waren auch die sanitären Örtlichkeiten sehr sauber und einladend. Wenn ich das Haar in der Suppe suchen wollte, könnte man bemängeln, dass die Kabinen dort wirklich sehr klein und eng sind, aber mehr auch wirklich nicht.
