Zum Römer — Restaurant in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe

Happened to visit this place during a search for a decent restaurant in Bad Homburg. The environment was warm with locals enjoying a pint of beer, neighbor meetings or even a card games. The place consists of approximately 9 table accomodating min. 36 guests but there also a bar table for beer drinkers so total of about 45 guests can eat and drink here. When we got there the tables were full but luckily one table was vacant in five minutes so we got the table in a jiffy. We ordered a cordon bleu and Schnitzel with a mushroom sauce with one of their representative beer which was weltburger Kloster and irish Kinkenny beer. Kloster had light but refreshing flavour while Kinkenny had dark and heavy flavour. Before the main dish, provides a small salad with little dressing which was okay bit since there was only one staff serving the tables, food came out a bit late which was okay since we had more time tasting the beers with salad. The Schnitzels were salty since there was a ham inside(cordon bleu) the schitzel which was a suprise but fortunately mushroom sauce eased the saltiness which was great. I highly recommend to try the Apfelwein as well in 'pure' since there was no smell of piss as I have smelled in some renowned Apfelwein restaurants in southern Frankfurt when drinking which was a astounding plus. The restroom was clean and well maintained. If you want to try some German dish in a authentic local pub, I recommend coming here for a drink with your partner or friends. *It's good to avoid coming in around six to seven since there are not many seats and locals tend to love coming here...

Un lugar que no podría pasar desapercibido, fantástico y diferente.

Por un lado, tenemos el restaurante. Una carta no demasiado extensa, pero grandes selecciones tanto en hamburguesas como en schnitzels. Comida típica de la región y apfelwine casero, raciones generosas a precios estándar para la zona.

Practicamente puerta con puerta, tenemos el pub, donde la carta de Whiskeys, la distribución del local y la atmósfera del lugar te trasladan a otra época.

La decoración es una maravilla y uno se podría pasar una tarde entera contemplando cada detalle en sus paredes.

Tienen una terraza preciosa y con un aspecto acojedor, dado el frío que acompaña a esta review, no he podido probarla, pero promete.

Por último, personalmente, no me gustó el hecho de que se permita fumar dentro del pub. Teniendo en cuenta las dimensiones del local y la ventilación del mismo, pocas salidas tienes más allá de tragar humo.

Eso, junto con (otro lugar más) la imposibilidad de pagar con tarjeta, me hacer bajar la valoración.

Am 27. Juni 2024 war ich zum ersten Mal in dem Restaurant. Die Bedienungen sind sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, ohne lange warten zu müssen. Ich habe aus der Karte bestellt. Das Essen kam auch zügig. Mein bestelltes Schnitzel war frisch und geschmacklich hervorragend. Eines der besten Schnitzel, dass ich je gegessen habe. Ein ganz großes Lob geht auch an die Köchin. Auf der Tafel im Biergarten gibt es noch eine kleine Auswahl weiterer Gerichte (am besten einfach das Personal fragen). Der Biergarten ist sehr schön und es empfiehlt sich rechtzeitig zu reservieren. Ich kam kurz nach der Eröffnung und hatte Glück mit meinem Sitzplatz. Die Preise sind für die Frische und Qualität eigentlich zu günstig. Der Digestif (z. B. Fassbind Birne), ist je nach Geschmack, ziemlich köstlich. Das Restaurant werde ich auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen. Ein richtig guter Tipp für Bad Homburg.
