We are always trying to rather recommend where to go, but as important as that is, also recommendation where not to go is. You know, you have a nice plans for the day, maybe some trip, you want to enjoy also a great food and you only have one try to get something good. Viet Village in Bad Soden, Germany was one of our worst experiences in last months. They have a lot of reviews, even great reviews on Google, great looking pictures, but that does not mean it'll be good. We went for it, as we had a good feeling about it. But we were wrong, the broth for Pho had really ZERO taste, no salt, no garlic, no ginger, no spices, nothing, it tasted like pure vegetable broth. No coriander/cilantro, even no chilli. Pure chicken breast pieces also no taste. We've had to ask for chopsticks, as it was no standard! Also the really overpriced homemade lemonades were bad. Then we've started to understand, the whole city and the whole restaurant was full of german senior citizens, with all the respect nothing against...but that is often the case in germany with mexican and vietnamese restaurants, that they are modifying the food to the taste of their guests. Which is somehow nice, but on the other side shame, that they are representing their cusine in such as way, especially vietnamese cusine, which is all about herbs, strong flavours and freshness...it was sad. The service was also horible, as we've tried to tell them what we quite did not like, as we always do in person. They simply did not care, they went away, without even telling goodbye. Please don't visit this restaurant, save the money for something that is worth it. One star only because of a...
Read moreHonestly a very disappointing experience yesterday. Have been here a few times last year, once outside for a birthday meal and once inside for lunch. The positives: the food quality is really good. Portion size ok. Decent selection of vietnamese/thai/japanese dishes. The atmosphere is really nice. However yesterday my wife ordered a tofu curry (she is vegetarian) and she ate a piece of chicken in the dish... upon further investigation she found 2-3 other pieces of chicken. She complained to the service staff... they said OK and went in the kitchen where we could hear them telling the chef off... after that though there was no action or apology. my wife only ate less than half her meal and was too uncomfortable to raise it again... they didn't take the dish away. 30min later they took the plates away and asked if everything was good, my wife said again that she couldn't eat the dish further due to the chicken / vegetarian topic. Only then did they offer to make a small portion of tofu curry on top. We said yes, then realised that we wouldn't have time. We then informed them that we wouldn't have time. They then brought a mini portion out as a takeaway. At least something, but honestly it was a bad service experience. They should have apologised straight away and asked if she wanted a replacement meal. Or should have then taken it off the bill. Instead they charged full price. A shame as the food is really good and the location is great. However we will have to think twice about returning since you cannot serve chicken to someone who has ordered a...
Read moreOk, it was for almost 2 years my favorite restaurant in Bad Soden and we were very often here. Not anymore… :( Since some months I am coming back and I feel it becomes worse and worse. Absolute highlight was the fried chicken, before, very soft and tasty - currently two times it happened to be too hard and not really that good. My favorite Erdnuss sauce is now dissolved with water, same for green garden sauce, so actual taste is half gone. Zucchini is often bitter now, I guess it is not very well washed. I...
