MR AN — Restaurant in Bavaria

The good points, friendly wait staff, takes card, takes cash, and speaks English. They have both outdoor and indoor dining, decor is nice, music is some kind of eastern Asian instrumental mix that kind of remind me of Vietnamese love songs. The menu has more than just sushi, and has some fusion influences. The fish used is decent.

The sad, rice is too dry, and the knife skill of the chef is sloppy, visual appeal could have look nicer especially for a restaurant claiming to specialize in sushi. The maki rolls looked rushed and crushed ToT. Ah they look like they were fighting each other in the tray. The sake maki is clearly the winner this round. The soy sauce tasted like sugar was added, the rice could have used more vinegar as well and less salt and sugar.

I replated my food because eating it out of the tray makes me feel like I could have just gotten gas station sushi and call it a night.

Last grip, the waitress misheard me and gave me asparagus roll instead of the inari, but oh well, I don't have another 25min to wait for a remake.

Cute date place to bring someone for sit down I guess.... Will probably return to see if I can give them a better...

We stopped in here spontaneously and were not disappointed! Awesome food, nice staff and the presentation was phenomenal! Check out my picture.

The prices I found fair. I paid €16 for my plate of Sushi and it was a lot! I think the price was fair for what I got. Good quality too.

I didn‘t check out the menu in detail but they also have some Thai Currys and some of the other reviews say they are really good.

I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Asian Cuisine and especially it you like sushi!

30.04.2023 Update…

We visited Mr. AN for the 4th time and were not disappointed. I ordered the same thing as always with the Big Crispy Rolls and was stuffed after eating everything. We did share two delicious appetizers so that may be why I was so full. The appetizers were delicious and the service great! The prices are higher than they were when I first posted a review. We come here very often. Food is excellent every time. Highest quality in Ansbach. However, the service is awful. No offense to the guys working, I'm sure they are exhausted, doing long shifts day after day. Nevertheless, the experience is very frustrating when you have to ask them to clean the table. Wait for 10 minutes to even be noticed, NOT welcomed, just noticed. Ask for chopsticks. Ask for little bowls for the soy sauce. Then they don't bring them, so we get them ourselves. Dirty appetizer plates sitting on the edge of the table for 10 minutes. Ask to pay, then remind them a second time that we asked to pay. The servers mumble at us. Or they are looking around whilst at the table. It's a nightmare. And it's like this every time we are here. The atmosphere is very open and fantastic otherwise.
