The food and beer were “just ok”.

I wouldn’t go back- nor would I recommend it to friends, as the entire experience was slighted as a result of shady business practices.

They took advantage of our group by pressuring expensive steaks instead of the burgers or smaller meals that we were trying to order. I told the server multiple times which burger that I wanted to order and he ignored me - continued to try to go down the menu of steaks from most expensive to the cheapest - I felt as though I was bartering at a Turkish bazaar. When ordering drinks, The server offered an “aperitif” - with no mention of cost, and then later charging €34 for a mini bar sized bottle of champagne that wasn’t listed on the menu. In an additional attempt to slide more costs on to the check, the server placed multiple bottles of water on each table - though only one or two people ordered a glass of water- and then added bottles of water to individual checks.

When attempting to rectify the situation, the manager offered minimal resolution at best. If you had already paid your bill- too bad! He already had our money, so he didn’t care.

I feel as though this establishment saw a group of Americans that they could try to take advantage of and did their best to do so, which is unfortunate. Fortunately, we had German friends in our group to help try to communicate and resolve the problem.

We will not be going back, and I highly recommend that you avoid this...

Bei Ankunft gingen wir am Nachmittag ins Lokal und bestellten „Tatar“ Menge an „Fleisch“ ca 80g Aber das Fleisch/Tatar hatte wirklich nicht im Entferntesten etwas mit einem echten Tatar zu tun. Fleisch für Tatar wird fein per Hand gewürfelt! Aber das was wir bekamen, war „Fleischcreme“ wie Nivea Creme so fein, es war fast schon unappetitlich, aber wir hatten Hunger! Und hofften auf ein tolles Abendessen und ein mindestens genauso tolles „Frühstück“ aber es kam anderst:

Essen am Abend gut, etwas teuer! Relativ kleine Portionen für hungrige Männer! Personal teilweise desinteressiert, fast unhöflich. Man steht lange am Anmeldefass und wird dann gefragt was man eigentlich will… Naja Aber es gab auch freundlicheres Personal, aber Alles sehr langsam. Aber dann beim Zahlen mit Karte wachen sie wieder auf und weisen einen mehrmals darauf hin, das man Trinkgeld eingeben bzw. Drücken kann… tja, da ist es eben schon zu spät! Sitzgelegenheiten nicht geeignet zum bequemen Essen (durchgesessene Sofas) viele unappetitliche Flecken auf den Sitzflächen… Bier teilweise gut aber auch nicht günstig

Frühstücksbufett:

Minimalistisch, kaum Auswahl, Alles in gläsernen Miniaturgrössen, wo nicht mal ein Teelöffel reingeht. Personal versteht keinerlei deutsch, wenig englisch.

Keine Säfte, kein Kaffee?! Kein Tee?! Nur harte Eier

Wir sind wirklich sehr viel in Hotels unterwegs, aber wir hatten noch niemals ein solches „Frühstücksbufett“ ohne Saft, ohne Spiegelei und vorallem noch nie ohne „Kaffee“ oder „Tee“! HIER muss man den Kaffee, den Tee, den Saft, das pure Wasser und das Spiegelei bzw Rührei separat bezahlen!!! So etwas haben wir noch niemals erlebt! Der Kaffee war bitter und dünn, kaum genießbar! Das kleine Gläschen Saft doppelt so teuer als ein Weißbier?! Nein danke! Das hat uns schwer enttäuscht!!!

Wir hoffen dann doch, dass das Personal dementsprechend bezahlt wird, denn bei einem solchen „Frühstücksbufett“ 15€ pro Person zu verlangen und dann auch noch extra für eine kleine Tasse Kaffee oder Tee, Saft, Wasser ohne „Gemüse“ drin oder ein Rührei…das sollte zumindest für die Angestellten dann gut sein! Der „Gast“ jedenfalls fühlt sich hier abgezockt! Sehr sehr sehr schade!

PS Liebe Lieberbier Restaurantleitung, es ist uns durchaus bewusst, das kein Gast sich mit „so einem“ Frühstück zufrieden geben kann! Auch wollten wir mit der doch recht unfreundlichen Bedienung keine Diskussion um das „Tatar“ beginnen! Es sollte doch in der Küche klar sein, wie ein Tatar auszusehen und zu schmecken hat! Vor allem in der Preiskategorie! UND in einem Brauereilokal! So nun, jetzt sollen wir bis Januar warten, um ein nur „eventuell“ besseres Erlebnis zu bekommen bei Ihnen in Bezug auf die Reklamation? Somit möchten sie zwar, das es besser wird, allein der Glaube fehlt mir dazu! Und warum? Weil ich doch erwarten dürfte, zumindestens einen Gutschein als Ersatz für zwei zweifelsfrei schlechte Frühstücksgedecke etc Aber nein, wir sollen nochmals kommen und unser Geld...

We stopped here on our way back home from our short visit to Nürnberg. We were hungry and looking for a nice place to eat. Suffice to say that this place wasn't nice nor was the food good. The place looks amazing. Of course, my opinion is based on my likings, and the industrial/factory style of it. And the food was ridonculous. I was expecting good food but we got great food. The seasonal lemonades (I had quince and pear and my fiance had plums and cinnamon) were refreshing. The ribs were so tender the meat almost fell off the bone by itself. Fries and sweet potato fries were crispy and perfectly salted and the coleslaw was just the perfect combination of what it's supposed to be. To finish the meal I ordered dessert: Schmandeis. The combination of flavours and textures is a fairy tale. Sweet and sour and umami all in one. First occasion we visit Bayreuth we are definitely coming back for seconds. Hopefully longer than a day so I can also savour some of...
