India Palace — Restaurant in Bensheim

Today will have been my last visit. I used to visit here regularly, but since the summer of 2022, the quality of the food has been declining rapidly. Especially the quality of the meat is now atrocious. I had ordered Lamb Korma, which had pieces of meat that tasted nothing like lamb anymore, but had a somewhat spoiled or rotten flavour to them, very similar to meat which had been stored in the freezer too long. I cannot tell with certainty the reason for this, but i know that fresh lamb neither has the dark colour nor the weird funky aftertaste that what i was served had. In a somewhat surprising anticipatory fashion, the waiter instantly came up to the table after the first few bites and i felt quite embarassed to tell him of my disappointment with the quality of the meat. As if it was a regular complaint, he immediately offered to switch out the dish for the same sauce with chicken instead. The chicken also tasted quite bland and long past its best, and had most likely been boiled in plain water shortly before having been added to the sauce. Even the sauce was nothing special. Fantastic! Came by and spontaneously decided to order something from the lunch menu. Not a problem at all. I asked for Indian spicy and after 10 minutes they came out with a plate and spoon to pre-taste the spicy sauce and asked me to check of it was spicy enough. It could be even more spicy and so they did. Lovely food, even for a takeaway there was so much chicken and lamb in the sauce, a rare thing these days. Definitely coming back for more! Prices very ok, large portions. There is place to park your bike available, entrance for disabled also available. Small parking place at the back, for small cars only or for people who know how to steer in small areas. Entrance at the right side of the building. They so much love the food they make that they help wrapping it into your bike bags, and they recommended to take Tupperware next time for transporting the food more secure. Absolutely...

Lovely food, lovely people. Went there for a couple of family dinners and picked up some food a couple of times. We had an experience of outstanding customer service when we got there on a busy Friday night with two tired kids and ordered take out. My tired and hungry daughter had a breakdown after a busy day and we decided to wait outside. We got some delicious lassi on the house which helped our youngest to calm down nicely and the food was ready super quickly. This is what I call family friendly....
