Having negotiated the local tram system through the suburban side streets with our rented motor home ! We found the Kopenicker Hof tucked away in the back streets of Kopenicker. We turned off the route into what looked like a sidings yard, complete with industrial workshops and red and white barrier. The site is that of the old gas works and a stirling job of regeneration has taken the form of a camping site on a mainline route into Berlin.|Our pitch was functional and on hard standing, although, if you drive through the entrance yard and past the old industrial buildings, there were plenty of motor homes pitches on a well maintained grassed area.|Do not expect plush facilities, they are utilitarian to say the least! However, they do work, the water in the showers is piping hot ( and I mean piping hot ... Be very careful when setting the temperature for the shower !) The water pressure is enough to feel you have been fully exfoliated ! Access to the showers, toilets and washing up area requires a key that is obtained from reception and kept with you for the duration of your stay.|There are electric hook ups for most pitches.|Despite initial appearances, this site was great. We liked the historical aspect to the area, there is a great little beer garden which also serves food in the evening and there is also bedroom accommodation available in the restored buildings at the front of the site. The reception staff were really helpful and gave good advice. The site is near to the main S and U Bahn lines into Berlin. It is a 10 minute walk to the station and approx 30 minutes into the city. ( we bought a € 7 day ticket at the station from the self service ticket machine.) Adjacent to the rail station is a large shopping area if you have forgotten anything or need groceries.|All in all a gem of a site, good value. There are separate charges for the electric hook up and wifi but they will not...

Read moreWe stayed here in a campervan. The location is pretty convenient, as you don't need to drive through central Berlin, and it's very close to an S-bahn station. The site itself is very interesting as it's an old gasworks, but they really pack you in tightly there. It's 'find a spot' style pitching, which isn't the worst, but does mean everyone gets cozy. All of the extras are paid for, even drinking water, but the base rate was affordable. Showers were a bit dirty, but the ones near the front are a lot better than those at the back. Staff were really friendly and...
