BLOCK HOUSE Am Adenauerplatz — Restaurant in Berlin

We came to Blockhouse after a long day of sightseeing, tired and hungry. There were 4 of us in total, and even though it was very busy, we were quickly seated. The menu was extensive, with plenty to choose from, but we all knew well in advance that we wanted steak!

The service was great, the waiter was polite, and he offered us the English menu straight away with no issues. The menus come in all kinds of languages, which is great for tourists! Drinks were replenished fairly quickly, and the food came out at a good pace.

We were served a salad as a starter which was included in the price of the main course, and it was simple and fresh- a perfect way to start our meal. The steak (I can't remember the exact cut I had- Ribeye I think) was served alongside a baked potato with a sour cream dressing which was divine, and some garlic bread. This is by far the bet garlic bread ever- if you come here, be sure to order more!

The steak itself was perfect. Cooked exactly to our taste, succulent and well rested. There was absolutely no gristle on the steak and I didn't leave a single bite. We also had some fries for the table incase I didn't like the potato- no issues there- and they were really tasty too.

There wasn't a massive selection of beers from what I remember- just really one brand of each type, and it was the type of beer that was listed on the menu, rather than the brand. This was a slight issue as we have certain brand favourites, and would have liked to have had an option, but when in Germany.... don't question the beer choice hehe! Turned out to be absolutely fine and the beers went down nicely.

Location wise, the Blockhouse is right beside the Adendauerplatz station and on the Khudamm.

If you are looking for a treat, I would definitely recommend this place. It may be worth making a reservation though as they are always busy when we walked past- always a good sign! They are a bit pricier that other places in Berlin, but the quality of food really...

We know all the Block House restaurants in Berlin, since the kids always love it. We called before coming for dinner last night as all the other Block House locations were booked and this location was able to accommodate at the last minute. In all locations they are always consistently good with nice and hardworking staff translating to great service. This location at Adenauer Platz is so exceptional, I felt compelled to write this review. We were there for dinner last night and the manager was especially friendly and jovial and made us laugh and smile and was so helpful and checking on us that all was okay. Our server was also super nice. Everyone in our party noticed - makes for a good mood and atmosphere and nice dining experience. Such amazing service that I felt like I was back home in Los Angeles. Without any reservations, I went there on valentine's day and they were nice enough to let us in and serve us. The staff were super friendly and attentive, they brought one of us an English menu since he couldn't read German and everything was well adjusted. We got goulash and onion soup and they brought salad for each steak we ordered, they were both tasty and we didn't have to wait much for them. The salad was fresh and they make it as you order. After the starter, the food came not that late, it was nicely designed and it smelled good. We had salmon, T-bone and a Ribeye, they all came together and we're cooked the perfect amount. They all had an amazing taste and we couldn't complain, specially the salmon that was cooked in a certain sauce that made it better. Definitely recommend the place, it had a nice environment...
