Café ILOstan — Restaurant in Berlin

I discovered Café ILOstan the first time my family came to visit me in Berlin. It had long been a culinary dream of mine to taste the Georgian Khachapuri — a cheese-filled bread that did not disappoint. Nor did the Khinkali — a Georgian dumpling filled with beef, potatoes or mushrooms. Nor does the Georgian wine or the beer that they serve in chilled mugs. Nor does the dessert which includes at various times a delicious honey cake called Medovik.

The staff are always kind, the decor is brilliant — a number of unique pieces of modern art adorn the walls (and even some of the tables). I’ve been back many times since with my partner, with my family, my partner and my family, and friends for both breakfast and dinner. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for good Georgian food, or frankly anyone looking for a bite to eat who can be pleasantly surprised...

The server was very nice when we came in but as soon as he saw we had laptop he was rude. Said we only had one hour if we use it. Mind you the space was empty (see picture) and they are open until 20h. The water tasted like unfiltered water 🤨 I am very surprised of how they have good reviews… EDIT: since the owner wants to play smart pants lol We had one big water, a coffee and a lemonade and stayed 30 min! And I wanted to eat but since the internet sucked and you didn’t wait 10 min before coming over to say we were not welcomed of course I preferred going somewhere else to spend my money. I used the plug to charge MY IPAD. And my bf didn’t use anything. Since there was no one I don’t understand this rules. Sorry. Update due to owner reply below: you are exactly right, the reason for my low score was the fact that using laptop was not allowed, as sign on the door says. And yes, I did not eat or drink in this place, therefore I did not rate the food but only service. I can understand why one would one reactivity use of laptops in cafe which is very busy, but this place was empty at 17:00 on Saturday evening when I arrived. This why there were three starts for service. Will lower service to one start as your reply to my rating is rude. Three starts for atmosphere was due to lack of light and annoying pop music.
