Edit: they had the audacity to answer to my review with a blatant lie! I had written the review from my POV to simplify what happened, while it actually happened to my partner right after I left. Now I adjusted the review to make it 100% clear. And as to the response from the restaurant: You didn't even allow my partner to TRY using his phone to pay after he said that he had both a debit visa and debit MasterCard. You cheapskates are simply trying to avoid the fees, causing him to waste 2 hours of his life!!!
By the way, as you can see below, I did point out from the get-go that the food was good and it arrived quickly. So instead of bad-mouthing your customers online, maybe take the review as a serious issue and WORK ON IT!!! And OMG, don't you dare involve god in this in such a passive-agressive manner. YOU are the one who should be ashamed! Very disappointed.
Here's my updated review: "Had a horrible experience there today. Food was good and arrived quickly, but although I was able to pay here with my MasterCard debit card 2 months ago, they refused to accept both my partner's visa and MasterCard debit cards. Since I had already left, my partner had to go back home to grab his giro card, since he only had his phone with which he can pay, but not withdraw money. Took him almost 2 extra hours. I wish I could bill them for his wasted time. Also, they told him that "normally, we don't accept card at all, we're doing you a favour!" What a money...
Read moreEDIT: Stop spreading lies please, I asked multiple times that can I even pay with my debit card but your waiter kept on rejecting it saying "It is a Visa card, so it is a credit card" - but in reality, it was still a debit card! When I tried to use another debit card, which was a master card, he rejected it also saying that only German banks like commerce bank, Deutsche Bank, or Sparkasse are allowed. When I tried to explain that my bank is also German (DKB), he would not listen, and then I tried to pay with my top-up card which had enough money in it, he rejected it also, saying that it was not a German bank even though that was still an EU account, so there should have been no problem. I also explained that we have used all of these payment methods in the past and it always worked but he would still not listen. Then I had to go back home to get my Deutsche Bank Giro card to pay the bill and wasted almost 2 hours of my time so please before accusing your customers check with your own staff first and at least teach them the difference between a credit card and debit card. The delivery came in the time predicted by Lieferando (though, justifiably, a bit longer than normal considering it was the Sunday a couple days after New Years).
