I felt sick afterwards and I spent the night over the toilet. This should say enough already. Honestly I don't know how you're rated best pizza in South Berlin, I need to say that obviously none of these guys are Italian or tasted a real Italian pizza. It's actually a kind of insult that you called that stuff "authentic Italian pizza". Some Turkish guy in Neukölln is better than this. And despite my name I happen to be Italian, so I know what's food. The dough was the worst part. It was all floppy, impossible to eat it without cutlery. The center was almost mushy. And the crust? Chewy. So disappointing. The pizzeria was empty the time we came but I don't know if they got mad since we all ordered just simple margherita but they served us those plates you could tell were made with no care. Mine had the cheese just on one side. And for such a small menu (which I'm totally fine with..) with these big big prices (again something I'D be fine with..if the quality justified the price) you'd expect to have something nicely served. Really bad. And I want to underline that what brought me to write this review it's that I was sick all night. This is the real bad part. How the hell did you rise your...
Read moreA real Italian place (and even most guests were Italians) which means two things - the food is really "like there", and to my knowledge and perception it's true, and - not so good - that you feel out of place. I was met by the waiter with a kind of patronizing look at me (something like "boy, what are you doing here, you can't afford it") and only after I started talking, she placed me to the table right in the middle abd very close to other guests (who seemed a little wondered about that too). Overall everyone was polite but a little uptight, and I had the feeling that other guests (especially Italians) were not getting such a treatment. It's so common to be discriminated against even in middle tier restaurants if you come as a single basic looking young man (and I can't express enough how silly it is to judge people by their looks in a city like Berlin). Also, I hate to say this, but it seems to be especially true for Italian places, I check it again and again and get this feeling way too often. Of course, everything I tell here is only my perception, but as a "slightly weird" and sensitive person I have enough experience in...
Read moreUnfortunately i can only give 5 stars. I need to apologize from them for giving 5 stars also for some other restaurants.
Update: The pizza was quite dry today. Normally, they throw the pizza away if it doesn't satisfy their standards. I guess this was not the case today, which was a little bit disappointing after waiting for a long time outside for a free table. I also checked the pizzas at other tables. They also looked overcooked. It was a very crowded day. Maybe they couldn't handle too many customers (which is still a problem). Apart from that, we ordered white wine and the glasses they brought were dirty. After sending them back, they brought new glasses which were still dirty. While cleaning one of the glasses myself, i warned the waiter that the other glass he brought was a red wine glass and he said "yeah sorry" while he/they could simply quickly wash the white wine glass he brought and give to us. This might not be important for everyone but it was not so nice for me. I've been there 4 times before. I left always happily, however...
