Went to an open air in the backyard of club OST named "Magdalena" 19.09.2020
It was alright and the music was good. The venue was very mediocre, like a large open parking lot tuned with a stage, the set and lights and a good amount of nice chairs (which was nice with the sun).
There were a lot of metal fences across the dancefloor, I think to enforce social distancing, but obviously there was none of that (not blaming anyone).
The crowd were mainly tourists/expats with some locals, and the vibe was generally nice. Pictures weren't allowed.
My big problem: Once you left the venue, your stamp lost its validity and you couldn't come back in.
I wouldn't have bought the tickets to begin with if I knew that, and why stamp me in the first place?
The event description on facebook and Eventbrite mentioned none of that, and I told that to one of the guys on the door. He had none of it, and said it was up there and written since 8 weeks now.
No it wasn't. I tried to explain it to the woman stamping people through, and that was pretty useless.
The guy screamed at my face for not completely following his orders and bypassing him to talk to the girl (sorry Sir!) but then he calmed down and relaxed enough to just talk to us like normal people. Which I appreciated. He told us to explain the situation to the guys on the outer gate and they were very kind and understanding too, actually some of the most understanding bouncers I've met in my life. (Very big guys too!)
My friend had to play for a children rights event so we had to leave and come back. And who doesn't care about children rights??
Anyhow, if you want to apply a rule like that, put it in the event description. Don't surprise people with the fact that they're trapped somewhere, but that they could leave and not come back AFTER they come in.
Just not cool.
Can't be blamed for having a...
Read moreIf you’re buying a ticket at the door, there is a separate queue to the people who have purchased one online. The queues may not be clear, it may even seem like there’s only one queue so ask around. It’s a lot faster if you buy at the door - plus if you get rejected, it’s less hassle than chasing up your ticket supplier for a refund. Plus - buying a ticket online doesn’t guarantee you an entry, so save yourself the hassle and just turn up on time or earlier and skip the queue.
Bring cash (like any club in Berlin) - entry was about €30 like most clubs (give or take) and payed in cash.
The cloakroom was great, speedy staff. Don’t worry about the size of your bag, my friends and I saw a woman bring a bag the size of a suitcase. Some women fully changed at the club so they brought big bags - don’t worry about the size of it.
Lighting in the basement room is stunning, dark room (not too dark that you can’t see anything , but cosy) which made it enjoyable to dance in - except from the second room which had insane, flashy harsh strobes (seizure inducing) that put me off from being in that room all night.
Slow queues for the toilets. But that’s a never ending fairly tale for toilets in any given decent club.
Tip: keep your water bottle from first purchase and refill it from the toilet sinks, you’ll be wasting €3.50 for water if you keep buying them when German tap is drinkable (unless you don’t want to queue in the toilets for 10-20 minutes to refill it). Staff behind the bars don’t refill for you, so if you’re going to the toilet you might as well do a refill.
The venue is great over all, incredible sound system, spacious with tall ceilings. The crowd were respectful and everyone knew how to have fun while respecting boundaries.

Read moreI have a mixed feelings. First of all, as a club, you should comunicate on your instagram that you have water mulfaction which means there are no toilets. We waited in the line, after our ticket was checked we were inform that we are not allowed to use a toilet due to water sytuation. Ok, everyone assumed, this is some minor problem and would be fixed. To our suprised, they keept going for 7h without a toilet. Stuff was extremly rude. Bouncers harrasing people for peeing in the back of the garden. No any information on instagram about sytuation, nor normal talking with people. Agressisve behavious only escalate this unpleasent experience. We were told that we should hold in our need of using toilet. What answer is that? Srsly, this is not all right. Secondly, they didnt lock the bathrooms nor put any stuff members to guard the toilets, so people would not use them without flashing. You can hold only for as long. Well, then stuff was again harrasing thoes people who neede to use a toilet and just decided to do it without flashing. Overall sytuation was handled very badly. There is either no managment in this place or they just dont know what they suppouse to do. We didnt leave cos after all we paid for that ticket and there was no any offer of reinbushing money. We were told about sytuation after they checked tickets. So not cool at all. Also in sytuation like this no one from stuff thought about refilling desinfaction liquids. So no water, no toilet, no...
