I had the pleasure of staying at Habyt Waterfront from January to February for a month, and I can confidently say that this hotel provided an outstanding experience. The following details highlight the reasons for my positive experience, covering everything from the room's comfort to the hotel's prime location. During our stay, the weather in Berlin was extremely cold, with temperatures often around freezing. We were situated on the 6th floor in Room 604, which was perfectly insulated. Despite the chill outside, our room stayed consistently warm, to the point where we could turn the heater off at times and still maintain a comfortable temperature. This made the stay during the cold months incredibly pleasant. Additionally, we had a fantastic water view, adding a touch of tranquility to the environment. The hotel staff was exceptional. Throughout our month-long stay, they were always friendly, accommodating, and understanding of our needs. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, offering assistance whenever necessary. We felt very at ease asking them for anything, whether it was a quick question or more specific requests. Notably, the staff also allowed us to store some of our suitcases in a separate area, which helped maximise the space in our room and keep it clutter-free. Facilities and Amenities The hotel offers excellent facilities that contributed greatly to the convenience of our stay. We had 24/7 access to laundry facilities (washing machines and dryers), which were always clean and easy to use. Additionally, the hotel’s commitment to cleanliness was evident across the board, both in the common areas and in our room. It was reassuring to know that the hotel provided dishwashing tablets on request, as well as complimentary coffee pods whenever we needed them. The common kitchen downstairs is a fantastic touch—equipped with utensils, plates, and cups, making it easy to grab anything you might need. For digital entertainment, the smart TV in the room and the high-speed Wi-Fi made it easy to relax in comfort. Another standout feature was the hotel’s willingness to accept mail deliveries, which was very helpful during our extended stay. The location of Habyt Waterfront could not have been more ideal. Initially, we thought the hotel was somewhat secluded, but it turns out it’s just 300 meters from Ostkreuz train station, which is part of the city's main transportation loop. This station provides direct access to anywhere in Berlin, including a direct train line to and from the airport, making travel incredibly convenient. The vibrant neighborhood of Friedrichshain lies just across the train tracks. This area is filled with trendy bars, restaurants, and two major supermarkets, all within a 10-minute walk from the hotel. If you're interested in Berlin's nightlife scene, several iconic nightclubs, such as Berghain (just two train stops away), Renate, OXI, and About Blank, are all within a 1 km walking radius. Whether you're in Berlin to explore the city's cultural landmarks or experience its famous nightlife, the hotel's location offers easy access to both. While our stay was almost perfect, there are a couple of minor points to address. Some previous reviews mentioned issues with the housekeeping staff being noisy in the mornings. I did notice that housekeeping was active starting around 10 am during our stay, but this wasn’t an issue for us as we were already awake by that time. Another minor point concerns the Airbnb listing. The listing incorrectly states that certain amenities, such as a hair dryer, towels, and heating, are not provided. This is not the case, our room was fully equipped with all of these essentials, which was a pleasant surprise. Additionally, throughout our stay the hotel left us goody bags which was a small but personal gesture. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, whether for...
Read moreI spent three nights in Habyt in early September and found the property and room modern, clean and well appointed.
I liked the inclusion of a Nespresso machine in the room although capsules weren’t replenished - but I brought some of my own. I didn’t like the exclusion of conditioner from the bathroom toiletries.
Its location is off the city centre but is less than a 5min walk to Ostkreuz station from where it’s a matter of minutes into the centre. The circular S-Bahn stops there as does the S-Bahn that runs right through the east-west axis of Berlin, so you can pretty much get anywhere from that station.
The hotel is also a 10-15min walk into the hipster areas around Boxhagener Platz with some nightlife venues such as RAW Gelande, OXI etc even closer.
So if you are in town to enjoy that vibe it’s the perfect spot for that, even if its direct location isn’t right on the doorstep of anywhere amazing.
The main issue for me was a couple of noise problems. The hotel has no air conditioning so it was 30 degrees plus and I had to open the window to get some sort of ventilation. Unfortunately my room was facing opposite the main train line running into Ostkreuz and it was too noisy to sleep with the window open.
It will be fine in cooler temperatures as the windows offer excellent sound insulation.
My main gripe was with the housekeeping team making very loud noises along the corridors from around 8am every morning.
I was woken up every day by them and the noise of their trolley along the corridor. I am a fairly heavy sleeper, so this may be an issue for those looking for unbroken sleep after a late night out partying or clubbing in the area.
Aside from that, I would recommended the hotel as it offers a good standard for the money that they are charging, is modern and its location can work as a benefit for exploring hipster...
Read moreThe rooms are very warm and I could barely sleep, even in cool weather. And I'm not just referring to the lack of air-conditioning. I mean that the daily temperatures were around 12-18C, but the rooms were around 25C and seemed to spontaneously generate heat. I tried opening the window to cool things off, but after closing the window the room seemed to heat back up again in about 30-60 minutes. I thought maybe the heating was on, but I checked and made sure there were no sources of heat in the room. This wasn't unique to me, I checked with 6 other guests who had the same experience that night.
Why did I close the window? Because I had a street-facing room that had loud car traffic, loud train traffic, noxious traffic fumes, and the rising sun. The window has very impressive soundproofing, but you will cook yourself if you try to sleep with it shut. The curtains are also disappointing, I saw the word "blackout curtain" promised in another review. They are much better than sheer curtains, but they are not very effective and the sun still lit up the whole room and woke me up around 5am.
I do not recommend breakfast, this is one of the most disappointing paid breakfasts I've experienced and I have had many better free hotel breakfasts in my life. I think they spent their whole budget on hummus and olives for breakfast. I would find that delicious for lunch or dinner, but I have no interest at breakfast. Take a look at the breakfast spread...
