Let start with the food? The carpaccio was sitting in a pool of thick, sweet, almost bbq sauce? Thick slices of raw mushrooms. All of this on top of the beef. Inedible. The "fajitas" were a pan of cold, previously frozen random vegetables floating in sweet spaghetti sauce. No tortillas. Have to order those separately at a cost per piece. When walking in we were directed to a table with the chairs chained to it. Some of the patio was open? Unclear which part and where we should sit. Sangria was VERY sweet with canned fruit cocktail inside. Room temperature. Asked for ice which never came. Asked why the carpaccio had no description considering it was nothing like a traditional recipe. Was met with the rage of a borderline violent 40-something server. Asked repeatedly where I was from and insisted everyone loved it and he ate it everyday. Took it away. Still charged us for it. The bread was like a stale hot dog bun. I heard the steak was "fine" but was undercooked, as was the table's next to us. The poor younger servers apologized and were clearly embarrassed. Literally my worst dining experience in at least a decade. So rude, horrible food. Bad service. We were there to celebrate a big move and instead were accosted, uncomfortable and still hungry. I'd leave a zero if I could. I'm used to bad food but the arrogant, threatening server was next level....
Read moreI visited Doreedos during their January 50% off special. I ate at Doreedos several times during this period and tried various steaks.
The steaks are cooked in hot plates and served to you directly. In general, the flavour profile is not particularly complicated - salt and pepper are the only seasonings used. The steaks themselves are of reasonable quality. As an Australian, I am used to a particularly high quality of steak yet Doreedos does not fall extremely short of this standard.
The entrecôte is my personal favourite. It is one of the premium cuts but is distinctly more flavourful than all other cuts. It was great value during the January discounts, however, is only average for value ordinarily.
The Huftsteak/rump steak are tougher pieces of meats but are the best value. The filetsteak is tender yet somewhat lacking in beef flavour (umami).
The environment is a standard family restaurant. There’s a good amount of noise happening and there is understaffing during busy dinner periods.
Overall, Doreedos represents excellent value if you are able to get discounts. Ordinarily, it serves decent quality food for a...
Read moreWhenever I am craving some steak night out, I usually pay this restaurant a visit. It doesn't have the best quality of meat, but it is the best deal you can get in Berlin in terms of taste, size and price of the steaks. The waiters are very friendly and the atmosphere give you vibes back from the 70s. The menu is huge and they have a lot of different varieties of food, but I usually go with steak as it's their specialty usually with a portion of fries or oven baked pasta. I am not a fan of their drinks though, they put a lot of sugar in it or the alcohol can be barely noticed. That's the only point that needs improvement from my own point of view. Overall totally recommend, especially if you are looking for an...
