Gasthaus Zur Glocke — Restaurant in Berlin

I loved the authentic German food. The chef came out to help us translate into english and mentioned he has studied abroad in other countries.

The restaurant staff were very kind and friendly, the service was fantastic, and the traditional German food is the best in all of Berlin! The road is quiet and there is a beautiful church next door!

The menu mixes incredible flavors in simple ways. I ordered the vegetable soup and the salmon added a zing of contrast! The schnitzel was scrumptious! He cooked it perfectly. It came with three small salads, tomato, cucumber, and potato. The flavors were unique but didn’t conflict but only...

So langsam nimmt die Reise durch die Gastronomie Fahrt auf. Zum EM-Spiel Deutschland gegen Portugal hatten wir Plätze in der Glocke, in Friedrichshagen Berlin, bestellt. Soweit so gut. Und?

Überrascht, dass es so leer war. Klar: Hitze, erst 17:30 und Fussball. Dafür von einem Herrn freundlich begrüßt. Es lag eine Herzlichkeit in der Luft die nicht gespielt war. Auch von seiner Frau nicht. Beiden führen das Lokal und betreuten uns kulinarisch und mit Witz wie Charme. Danke hierfür.

Die Hauslimo war genauso exzellent wie das Knoblauchbrot. Es wurde auf eine Art und Weise serviert, dass es uns Freude bereitete dieses zu verspeisen. Besser sogar als wir es auf Gran Canaria erlebten. Der Hauptgang wurde sehr stilvoll und doch nicht übertrieben serviert. Es schmeckte sehr gut. Auch wenn wir ein bissl Salz ins Lob schütten müssen. Der Kartoffelsalat beim Schnitzel hat kein Charakter. Es war recht nüchtern. Die Soße beim Spieß kam uns sehr künstlich vor. Auch mit der gelben Chreme konnten wir uns nicht recht anfreuen. Ansonsten waren die Hauptkomponenten äußerst gut zubereitet. Eine Saftigkeit - echt gut zubereitet.

Also ingesamt wirklich zu empfehlen! Ein Nachtisch haben wir uns nicht gegönnt, da zu warm an diesem Tag. Es wurde erst durch das Gewitter so langsam erträglich. Das Fussballspiel war unser Nachtisch, was wirklich super ausfiel: Deutschland gewann 4:2.

Fazit: Klein - fein - höflich - schmackhaft - lockere Atmosphäre. Geht hin und genießt die besondere Art und Weise ein Lokal zu führen. Wir werden auch wieder dort vorbei schauen. Von daher: 4,5 als Bewertung. Wirklich verdient. Und dass unter...

I love Zur Glocke! The food is like in the traditional restaurant next door, except much much nicer! The menu is small and changes constantly, which is amazing and speaks a lot about the restaurant's values! Sometimes there is some dish that I don't love, but overall the food is really good! And from all the Kaiserschmarrn I have tried everywhere in Germany, I love theirs the most!
