Stern 63 — Restaurant in Berlin

Winter 2023/2024 * Sadly, I'm removing some stars. Drinks are still not strong (but expensive) and quality of food dropped a lot. We got impression that cheaper soya sauce was inside KIKKOMAN bottle... Wasabi is not strong and nowhere near to quality from summer 2023. It's still green, but not spicy.

Stern 63 pretends to be called a restaurant but waitress is wearing sweatpants...

So, they WASTED initial success and it happened in under a year. IT'S TIME to re-check competition nearby. Maybe they improved due to past influence of Stern 63?

Autumn 2023 * Amount of food got smaller, for the same price. Drinks are still missing a lot of %%%, so no way to get "under the weather" feeling...

Summer 2023 * Very good place with high quality sushi and a good service. Soups are very tasty too. Stern 63 really raised the bar for two other sushi places in this area (and those places are good). It's a huge achievement and I hope that such quality will be kept for long. On the other hand... cocktails with alcohol are very tasty, but there's ALMOST NO ALCOHOL in them. Don't skimp on alcohol and as a result, people will order more drinks and more food. Once you improve %%%, your cocktails will be better than in Mexican restaurants...

The place is lovely, very colorful yet with a modern twist on the classic asian style. The food is basically Vietnamese but with influences from other Asian cuisines, and a bit of local tradition too. The food is VERY tasty and the sizes extremely generous - the main courses alone are enough to fill you up, so don't overdo with the appetizers! There are vegetarian options, kids options and even something to appeal vegans as well. The prices are absolutely reasonable - we spent 50€ as a couple with cocktails, two appetizers and two main courses. Overall it was a great experience and I'm positive I would like to try their sushi menu for my next dinner there... I saw some sushi plates on another table and they looked fantastic. We will come back soon! :)

Zum ersten Mal dort gewesen, insgesamt mit 11 Leuten. Erster Eindruck beim Betreten sehr gut, auch wenn es laut war. Erst nach Nachfragen, wurde die Musik leiser gemacht. Leider kein typisch asiatischer Style. Die Getränkebestellung ging recht flott, die Getränke waren nach knapp 8 Minuten am Tisch. Was aber dann geschah, das geht so nicht. Andere Gäste, die sehr viel später gekommen sind, hatten ihr Essen früher auf dem Tisch. Essen mit Vorspeisen wurde bestellt. Nach geschlagenen 50 Minuten kam die Hauptspeise und die Vorspeisen wurden glatt vergessen. Das geht so nicht. Das man die dann nach dem Hauptessen bekommt, nun ja. Ja, sie haben sie uns nicht in Rechnung gestellt, aber nein … absolutes No Go! Die Teller wurden auch erst circa 10-15Min nach Beendigung des Essens abgeräumt. 🫣🤷🏼‍♂️

Die Mitarbeiter wirkten sehr hektisch und leicht gestresst. Wenn nicht genug Mitarbeiter da sind, managed man das anders und gibt am Anfang gleich zu verstehen, das es etwas länger dauern könnte.

Die Toiletten sind sauber, aber nach meinem Empfinden das Licht echt zu dunkel.

Alles in allem: Mit einer großen Gruppe an hungrigen Menschen, werde ich diesen Laden NICHT noch einmal besuchen. Das wurde arg verkackt. Allein oder zu zweit werde ich es dort VIELLEICHT noch einmal probieren. Aber sicher bin ich mir da noch nicht. Gibt es weitaus andere Alternativen.

Parkplätze dort sind Mangelware. Am besten mit den öffentlichen...
