Tandoori Indische Spezialitäten — Restaurant in Berlin

I love Indian food yet I can't tolerate spicy food. This place is a HEAVEN for me. Yes, the food is definitely not "authentic" Indian but is rather a much milded-down version of it. Which sits extremely well with me personally.

The wait time was a bit longer than expected but the ambiance is pleasant and quiet with actual Indian music quietly playing from the speakers (some pop, some Bollywood style) adding to the experience.

At the end I had an unpleasant surprise that my non-German debit card (or a credit card) was not accepted so I had to run to the nearby (2 blocks away) ATM to pick up some cash. Got a nice after-meal exercise ;-)

Overall a very nice and cozy place with an English-speaking waiter (was a plus for us as we don't speak German yet) with a food that is NOT really Indian in taste but is rather Indian in spirit.

Speaking of spirits - was pleasantly surprised by a fantastic Chardonnay. Simple in flavor but fresh in taste and it went very well with the rest...

If you like authentic Indian food and know what Indian food should taste like you are up for a big disappointment. The food is nowhere close to Indian food. In fact it is German Indian. The meat is either overcooked tasting like baby food or chewy. The personnel is also not friendly at all. I don't understand why people have given this restaurant 5 stars. It doesn't even deserve one! They must be family or friends or they don't have a clue what Indian food should taste like. Also be aware they accept only German payment cards. We were sent to a cash machine 3 blocks away...

After having waited for 1,5h at the place we’ve asked if it’s possible to receive at least the rice or bread from our order. I was specific that it was for the kids who were getting very hungry. It was obvious though: our little one (1y.o) was altready becoming fussy and crying which wasn’t a very pleasant experience also for other visitors. The answer from the arrogant waiter was: “everyone is hungry”. Of course this was our last visit there, although we used to come regularly and the guys do know us.. Terrible experience, the worst customer service...
