Tanuki Restaurant — Restaurant in Berlin

The dumplings and duck were beautifully crispy, the meat was tender and juicy which is not always the case with duck meat, I was pleasantly surprised. We had three main dishes and they were all delicious and well seasoned. We also ordered a mango lassi and a wild berry lemonade which were both delicious and well presented. The tofu was soft and nicely flavored, the portions were large enough, and the presentation was attractive and appetizing. We did not wait too long after ordering. The dish with sweet and sour sauce was well made but not something I would probably order again. The sauce was too liquid and the veggies like coliflower did not compliment the dish to my taste. I would instead highly recommend the noodles with the crispy duck. The dumplings came on a bed of lettuce with a side of sauce that was nice. Overall, very good service, wonderful food, appropriate portions at a reasonable price with a large selection.

Update from next morning: we had some stomach troubles the night and morning after. Nothing drastic but all three of us...

Unfortunately I inly remembered to take a picture once I already messed the arrangement up. Been in town with my partner and a friend. This place seemed cheap and was quite close by so we dropped by for lunch. We were absolutely blown away. One of the best places to go,especially if you like red curry. I had a wakame salad our friend went with gyoza and my partner chose the tom yum soup as starters and all were excellent. The wakame surprised me with the inclusion of rocket, but it turned out to be an excellent addition. For drinks we all got their home made lemonades which were great and refreshing and finally the main course was fried udon for my partner and coconut(red) curry for me and our friend. Boy was that the crowning jewel on this meal, absolutely the best curry I've had maybe ever, and that is my go to dish at restaurants. The fried chicken was especially fresh, juicy and crispy, just perfect. To boot the place has a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and some of the lowest prices you'll get such good food...

Sind hier gelandet auf Grund der guten Bewertungen. Diese sind meines Erachtens nach nicht nachvollziehbar. Das Restaurant befindet sich an einem großen Parkplatz mit verschiedenen Geschäften und wirkt erst einmal eher wie ein Imbiss. Ambiente ist nicht besonders gemütlich. Speisenauswahl geht, es muss ja nicht immer eine riesige Karte sein, aber das Essen an sich war nicht so überzeugend. In der Küche hat nicht gebrutzelt, es machte den Eindruck als sein alles Convinience. Den Koch hörte man in der Küche ständig Husten oder Niesen, was uns den Appetit schon hat verderben lassen (waren die einzigen Gäste dort, man hörte also alles). Geschmacklich nicht überzeugend, es macht satt, aber schmeckt nicht sonderlich, aber die Preise sind dafür ganz ordentlich. Finde es ganz schön teuer da, vor allem für die Gegend und das Produkt.
