the BurgerBar — Restaurant in Berlin

We had a business trip from Switzerland to Berlin. We booked in advance with the Burger Bar and had all kind of special requests as we were a big group and had to privatize almost the whole restaurant, plus, we had special food orders and service wishes. We are well known to be picky and having high expectations - but for one of the first time, the service exceeded all our expectations. The food was amazingly good, exactly as we wished and even better. They helped us to have a special setting that would work best for my team (~35 people). The service was simply amazing since the first contact we had with them. I would highly highly recommend for all kind of reservations you need to make: from business event, to private ones or simple lunch/dinner with family & friends. We will definitely come back when we are in Berlin and we have been recommending it to all our colleagues.

Take the escalator down Tempelhofer Hafen and on the right side you will find The Burger Bar. The ambience is nice and there's enough seating most of the times. If at all there's no seating you can always go out and have your favorite meal by Yachthafen Tempelhof which is an added benefit. I tried most of their burgers and found their Jalapeno Burger to be good served with fries and dip of your choice...what they call a Business Meal (used to be € 6.90). It could still be better had the patty been a lil more salted and the buns fresher. Most of the times, the fries are lil over fried as well but I still do visit the place from time to time to...

Zuerst einmal was zur Atmo: Mein Gott, mitten im Einkaufszentrum. Also vor allem laut. Wir waren schnell etwas genervt. Bedienung war okay. Sogar ziemlich hübsch und wirkte nicht allzu genervt, obwohl es kurz vor Feierabend war.

Essen: Wir hatten Cheeseburger und verschiedene Pommes Sorten.

Die normalen Pommes waren absolut okay und der Preis fair. Portionsgröße ausreichend. Die Süßkartoffelportion war viel zu klein für den Preis. Eigentlich sogar eine Unverschämtheit. Kann ich nur dringend von abraten, auch wenn der Geschmack noch ganz gut war. Die immer extra zu bestellenden Soßen (darunter auch Ketchup und Mayo) waren mir persönlich deutlich zu teuer, die Menge war aber ausreichend.

Die Cheeseburger waren essbar. Etwas besser als McDonalds. Die Patty's waren noch das Beste dran. Sonstiger Belag einfach viel zu wenig (z.B. nur eine einzige kleine Scheibe Tomate) und die Brötchen waren gerade so akzeptabel. Bieten zu wenig "Substanz". Man hatte das Gefühl, sie würden gleich zusammenfallen. Preis für das Gebotene aber deutlich (mindestens 30%) zu hoch.

Getränke: Wir hatten Cola und Bier. Das Bier war gerade so okay. Die Cola war nicht kalt und hatte auch fast keine Kohlensäure mehr. Dazu ein abartiger Preis für ein solch enttäuschendes Getränk.

Wartezeit war insgesamt noch gerade so erträglich, aber wirklich ganz hart an der Grenze. Es war nicht mehr viel los im Laden und ich möchte nicht wissen, wie lange man warten muss, wenn es mal wirklich etwas voller ist.

Fazit. Lohnt sich nicht.

Wer einen wirklich guten und sehr preiswerten Burger essen möchte - den gibts keine 5 Minuten von da entfernt. Taste Hellas. Ist ein kleiner griechischer "Feinkostladen" mit intregiertem Imbiss.

Tempelhofer Damm bis zur nächsten Straßenecke nach Norden laufen und auf die andere Seite wecheln. Dann ist man praktisch schon da. Burger kostet teilweise unter 4€ und schmeckt auch noch erheblich besser. Auch die Getränkepreise sind...
