Velvet — Restaurant in Berlin

If there's one bar in Berlin that's been showered with awards in recent years, it's undoubtedly Velvet. The only bar in Berlin to score 97 points in the Falstaff Bar Guide, it has won Bar of the Year and Bartender of the Year at the Mixology Bar Awards, both of them twice. It has also been mentioned in Worlds 50 Best Discovery and Top 500 Bars. Opinions may vary on such awards, but one thing is certain when you visit: it's easy to see why Velvet has won them.

A visit to Velvet offers fantastic service accompanied by equally outstanding drinks in an incredibly stylish yet unpretentious atmosphere. This combination surely makes the heart of any bar lover beat faster. With amazingly balanced drinks, most of which consist of 10 or more ingredients, Velvet boasts an exceptional selection of drinks. The quality of the offerings is reflected in the frequently changing menus. Each week, 3-5 drinks are rotated on the menu, depending on what ingredients are in season. This unusual approach requires both creativity and a deep understanding of ingredients and mixing techniques. Many of the ingredients are even hand-picked by the team in the Berlin surroundings.

Ruben, head bartender, is a wonderful host. His willingness to provide information and answer questions contributes to the pleasant atmosphere and gives guests the opportunity to learn more about their drinks. The drinks are usually named after the main ingredient, such as "Waldmeister", because coming up with new names all the time was getting tedious, as the water-pouring-man explained to me.

Velvet embodies the essence of what a modern bar should be: innovative and delicious drinks, excellent service, and a constant willingness to innovate. Finally, somewhere you can go in Neukölln and not get disappointed. First of all, is NOT A BEER BAR. So go somewhere else if you want 0.5 litter of beer for 3.50 euro.

The chemist ( the girl ) she is very professional and focused. She makes a drink that WILL knock your socks off. The tall guy who helps her. He is very good at his job. He knows what to do before even asking. ( but he sometimes break stuff and he has to start over again lol ) All of them work in harmony. ( also the other guy ) They all give a damn about their job and you can see how precise and careful they are with what they do. The drink looks great and works damn good. The menu changes all the time so every time we go, there is new stuff.

The aesthetics of the place it's OK. It could be better. I would change the bar chair or at least take one out! It is hard to get out! especially after the second drink! The sound system is great and good tunes.

But overall, what is important is that they offer you a great experience that comes with the drinks that make you feel good and add some flavour into your night and doesn't seem forced or fake which is very rare to find these qualities in Neukölln.

Best place i know in the city until now. We went there without reservation, so we ve been told that it was under of own risk to wait by the way. But we just smoke a cigarrate outside and they let us stand on a side and order until they have a sit. The staff was super friendly all the time, the place was so chill and the cocktails were so good. We went there to have a round and finally we did 3 rounds jijij They really make us feeling at home and all the Cocktails were super tasty. Most of Cocktails bar i go are all sweet and sours, but i found a menu full of Sherry wines to balance them, and to find such a variety of cocktails made that way i dont see it oft. Even of the 6 cocktails i tried one didnt fall in love, still was better than most i find in other places. The time to close arrived, and we found no pressure to finish and leave.
