Brasserie an der Ahr — Restaurant in Blankenheim

We had a terrible evening in this child un-friendly place. After I accidently broke a light bulb while comforting my 5 months old baby, the owner and waitress charged me an additional 50 euro, apologies were clearly not enough nor accepted. They threatened to call the police as I refused to pay this disproportional amount, and it did not matter that my children (5y and 7y) had to whitness the discussion, were frightened and crying... Totally disrespectfull towards tourists or human beings in general. They clearly took advantage of the situation (me being tourist, the presence of my children,...) I'm still disgusted and obviously would not recommend it to anyone. Zero stars for the hospitality. About the food: nothing special, very greasy, too much salad dressing, ... 3 stars...

Nie wieder! Wir kamen an wollten gerne drinnen sitzen, war nicht möglich alle mussten raus, aber gut dann eben draußen macht ja nichts. Der Kellner (ü70 mit Handbandage) wurde rumkommandiert und Jung genannt was allen Beteiligten sehr negativ auffiel. Als wir dann allerdings zahlen wollten, sechs Personen a drei Rechnungen, fing das Drama an. Erst hatten wir Mühe die Chefin überhaupt mal an unseren Tisch zu bekommen, dann fragte sie wie wir zahlen möchten. Wir würden gerne getrennt und mit Karte zahlen und bei einem Pärchen war ein Gutschein vorhanden. Es kam sofort ja das geht jetzt nicht, ob wir nicht zusammen zahlen wollen. Als wir sagten, dass wir schon gerne getrennt zahlen möchten kam ein böser Blick und das dann aber länger dauern würde. Wir sagten, dass das kein Problem wäre. Als sie noch einiger Zeit wieder rauskam, sagte sie sie hätte leider den Gutschein vergessen und wir müssten nochmal kommen. Wir waren wirklich alle sehr entgeistert und sagten, dass das nicht in Ordnung ist. Sie wich erst nicht von ihrer Position ab und sagte sie könnte da nichts mehr machen das wäre jetzt so. Nach Diskussionen ging es dann zumindest mit Barzahlung. Wir sprachen auch, dass Verhalten gegenüber dem wirklich netten und motivierten Kellner an und das man froh sein kann einen solch tollen Mitarbeiter zu haben, woraufhin sie sagte, dass er ja nur Laufbursche sei und sie eigentlich die Arbeit habe. Also alles in allem das Essen war lecker, der Service unter aller Kanone und menschlich das allerletzte, wir alle kommen...

Not welcoming at all. Really poor staff. We wanted to come in and were told in a rude way that everything was full. When we politely asked if it would be possible to come back later or make a reservation the staff said this was impossible and started explaining in a childish manner that people that were already sitting there deserved some food first. As if we did not understand how a restaurant works?? Just rude and unwelcoming. Would not recommend...
