Speiselokal Canova — Restaurant in Bremen

We went back for another great lunch today: food and service is still as great as is has been. One important change: The door between the museum and the restaurant is now locked after being open for years. It can create cognitive dissonance and stress for the restaurant staff if guests signal through the locked glass door that they would like to come in. They want to help but the museum’s rule says that they cannot. The right way now is, unfortunately, to grab your jacket from the museum locker and walk around the museum to enter the restaurant from the back.

High end food with a beautiful view without being pretentious. I had an "appetizer" of Schwertmuschel/Atlantic jackknife clam and chanterelle. The menu was filled with seasonal chanterelle dishes. I wrote appetizer in quotation marks because it was as large as the other people's entrees. I'd neither seen nor tasted Atlantic jackknife before, so it was interesting to try it out. Wir haben im kleinen Rahmen unsere Hochzeit im Canova gefeiert und es war, gleich nach der Wahl der Braut, die beste Entscheidung überhaupt! Wir hatten im Rahmen der Veranstaltung den separaten Raum angemietet und wurden hier fürstlich bewirtschaftet. Ein ganz großes Lob geht an dieser Stelle noch einmal an den Service, der trotz einer großen parallelen Veranstaltung im Hauptraum einen fantastischen Job geleistet hat. Der Ablauf wirkte koordiniert und professionell, keiner der Gäste musste jemals lange auf etwas warten und das Sevicepersonal war extrem freundlich, aufmerksam und vor allem auf Zack. So eine Proffessionalität sucht man heute häufig vergebens. Ich bin ehrlich gesagt immer noch begeistert!

Das Essen (4 Gänge Menü) war von der Vorspeise bis zum Nachtisch ein absoluter Genuss. Nicht ein Teller ist dabei mit Resten wieder zurück in die Küche gegangen - wohlbemerkt lag das keineswegs an zu geringen Mengen sondern vielmehr an dem herrvorragendem Geschmack. Sogar die 91 jährige Oma hat sämtliche Gänge verputzt und sprach anschießend ein dickes Lob an die Küche aus.

Die Planung und Koordination der Veranstaltung mit Frau Keller war sehr angenehem und wir hatten von Anfang an ein gutes Gefühl bei der Sache. Die Vorschläge zum Menü trafen genau unseren Geschmack und begeisterten zuletzt auch den Rest der Gesellschaft. Auch bei der Weinauswahl traf der Spezialist des Hauses voll ins Schwarze!

Abschließend bleibt zu sagen, dass wir einen fantastsischen Abend im Canova hatten und wir das Haus für etwaige Veranstaltungen an dieser Stelle uneinegschränkt empfehlen können und wollen! Auch im Namen meiner Frau an dieser Stelle noch einmal vielen Dank an das...
