Samocca — Restaurant in Cleves

Absolutely love this little Deli and Cafe! Awesome food (great breakfast platter, lunch and home-made cakes) and absolutely the best (!!!) coffee in town (they roast the coffee beans themselves in a big roaster inside the cafe). Super nice service and I learned that most of their staff are people with challenges so by visiting you are also supporting a good cause of integrating people who are mentally or physically challenged. Only one person (in the entrance) is friendly and welcoming. The rest of the servers where just standing looking at us as if they were statues when we said halo. No response at all. They were not welcoming at all to non-German customers. Such a shame because the place was nice and it seems like they have good food/coffee. Saw a lady approach them in German and that's where they look friendly and entertain them. Wouldn't go to this place if you don't speak German. You won't be getting any smile...

Das Bestellen läuft hier über Ankreuzlisten. Man kreuzt an, was man haben will und gibt den Zettel ab. Wenn die Bestellung erledigt ist, werden die Getränke und Speisen vom Personal mit einem Textmarker markiert und man bekommt den Zettel zurück.

Bei unserem Besuch kam eine Person später und hat noch etwa 10 Minuten vor Bestellschluss für die Küche eine warme Mahlzeit bestellt. Das haben mehrere von uns mitbekommen, da wir uns darüber unterhalten haben. Das Gericht wurde vergessen zuzubereiten. Auf freundliche Rückfrage, wo das Essen bleibt, wurde behauptet, wir hätten das nicht bestellt und wir wurden bezichtigt, zu lügen! Wir hätten das Gericht nicht angekreuzt, es nachträglich drauf gemalt und würden das nutzen, um jetzt wo die Küche bereits zu ist, noch eine Bestellung zu bekommen... So sieht doch wohl Service aus... zum...
