Alte Gutsschänke — Restaurant in Cochem

A little, cozy place with lovely service. Only upon arrival did we discover that this place is primarily a drinking place. We were hungry but not in the mood for the wine, so before entering, we asked the waitress if we could just eat (taking into account the unpleasant experience at Zum Onkel Willi). She said it was totally fine and invited us to enter with a smile. We arrived right at opening and were seated immediately. In about five minutes, the place was packed with guests! The waitress was absolutely brilliant. While we waited for our orders, I saw her elegantly pouring wine for guests, expertly explaining the flavors of the wine bouquet and other details. It's a fascinating scene. The exteriors are stunning, the interiors remind of a medieval tavern. It's quite dark inside, so my photos of the interiors came out very blurry. There are candles on every table, creating a romantic atmosphere. Our order was ready pretty quickly - we ordered goulash soup (6, onion soup (6.5) and 2 Würzige Frikadellen. I liked the goulash soup, the spice selection was different from the ones I tried in other places. My father felt wine notes in the onion soup, he found it fresh and interesting. Unfortunately I didn't quite like the Frikadellen, but it's a matter of taste, as my father liked it and ate both Frikadellen. It would be nice to visit this place again, this time with tasting...

Wunderbar! “Arthur’s Place” is absolutely amazing! We found this Cochem treasure in the Rick Steves Travel Book. We walked in at 10pm to the most delightful wine cellar ambiance one can rarely find. We joined a table and made new friends from Holland. The wine was delicious. Arthur, The wine maker and the manager of the cellar visited all the tables. Order the fresh Cheese & Veggie platter of great cheeses to complement your wine. This place is a must visit if you love wine and the Cochem wine...

So eine Traumhaft schöne Gutsschänke. Bilder gibt es hier ja schon zu hauf von Innen und dem Essen. Wie gern hätte ich es auch einmal erlebt. Aber was nicht ist kann ja noch werden 😊. Unser Hund war nicht all zu gut drauf, und die Schänke war gut besucht am Sonntag. So das mein Sohn und ich entschieden draußen zu warten, während der Herr Papa mir eine Flasche süßen Wein für Zuhause geholt hat. Ein kleines Andenken möchte man ja schon mit nehmen aus Cochem wenn man schon Mal da ist 🤗. Jedenfalls bin ich sehr glücklich mit diesem herrlichen Wein. Es steht nicht Mal süß drauf und es war aber süß drin. Super lecker, kann ich nur weiterempfehlen. Mein Mann durfte sogar vorher probieren, und wir haben eigentlich alle keine Ahnung von Wein 🍷🙈 😄. Wir haben schon einige Weine mittlerweile ausprobiert die angeblich süß sein sollten, stand ja auch drauf, aber das waren sie am Ende gar nicht. Es lohnt sich definitiv zu einem Menschen vom Fach zu gehen wenn man guten Wein trinken möchte, bevor man sich irgendwo eine Flasche kauft die am Ende nicht Mal schmeckt.

Nun habe ich das feine Tröpfchen zwar Zuhause genießen dürfen, aber es war sehr sehr lecker. Und irgendwann komm ich sicher mal dazu es auch in der Gutsschänke trinken zu können, und dann schmeckt es sicher noch besser in dieser urigen herzlichen Atmosphäre 😎👍.

(Ja ich weiß das ist sicher nicht das richtige Weinglas 🙈😅)
