JAMY'S Burger Darmstadt — Restaurant in Darmstadt-Mitte

We come here all the time to get a Trip avocado. Best hamburger I've tried in Darmstadt...

Update (January 2020): the restaurant has had many changes in a relatively short time. They renovated the restaurant, in my opinion it was not necessary but I go for the food anyway. But now they changed the style of the restaurant completely, it's fancier and not only because of the looks, now you order at the table which makes you lose time (need to wait to place the order and need to wait to pay), there is a lady with a blazer that invites you in and overall it's just fancier. This would not upset me that much if the product was equally good, but it's not. Prices are higher (if I remember correctly) and now the avocado trip doesn't have the same amount of avocado sauce that it had before, it only has a tiny little bit under the meat and on top of the salad it has now a lot of mayo and ketchup, (a lot) they ruined the hamburger. It's not an avocado trip anymore. Plus the service was disappointing because I order the avocado trip without tomato (makes me sick) and it came without tomato and WITHOUT AVOCADOS! So I told one of the girls there and let's say she was not that happy when she brought me back the hamburger with the avocados and with tomato (a new one, they threw the other one, which was not necessary). It's a bit sad because Darmstadt doesn't have many good places to eat and this was one that we liked to visit very often. On the positive side, a guy came at the end and asked how the hamburger was, we were honest and he was very nice and told us they were now doing it like that, but that it was possible to order it with avocado sauce on top of the salad instead of this mayo/Ketchup like sauce. We're gonna give it another chance and order them like that. Let's see... Another plus is that they now have...

I read some very positive reviews on Yelp and was curious to see if Jamys matches my taste. Upfront: Regularly, the patties are served well done. Since I forgot to order my burger juicy, my review focuses on the standard version. First of all: the seating area atmosphere is nice. The counter though leaves the impression of being at the fast food chain with the big yellow M, which is not a compliment from my point of view. After ordering a major difference is brought to light: the food is obviously prepared on order. This means you first receive a vibrating alarm and then you take a seat and wait until the alarm goes off. The looks of the burger and fries are 1a: a true what you see is what you get. The burger looks really pretty with curly lettuce looking out from between the buns. The taste though brings us back to this other big fast food chain. That means, technically speaking, all is prepared very well, but taste-wise I was not offered an awing experience. Therefore it leaves me with no other choice than a three star rating. I'd rather give it a 3,4 to pay respect to a lot of nice details. I though will give them another visit, to try if the medium grilled patty lives up...

Nach einem sehr schönen Tag in Darmstadt sind wir ins Jamy‘s um den Abend perfekt ausklingen zu lassen. Trotzdessen alle Tische bereits reserviert waren, haben wir zeitlich begrenzt einen Platz bekommen. Durch die schöne Dekoration, die grünen Deckenelemente und das gedämpfte Licht wird eine traumhafte Kulisse und Atmosphäre geschaffen. Die Bedienungen waren zwar sehr freundlich, ließen aber, da sehr viel los war, immer etwas auf sich warten. Zu Beginn wurde sich erstmals um unsere Getränke gekümmert. Die hausgemachten Limonaden und Eistee sind allesamt eine glasklare Empfehlung. Geschmacklich hab ich noch nie solch gute getrunken. Sie waren nicht nur ein Hingucker, sondern auch sehr angenehm süß. Mein Cocktail (Himalaya) war sehr mild-sahnig und mit einem ordentlichen Schuss Alkohol, also schonmal alles richtig gemacht. Das Geschirr und Besteck sah sehr edel aus und lag gut und schwer in der Hand. Die Burger und Fries wurden auf einem Teller sowie einem kleinen Fries-Schiffchen an den Tisch gebracht. Der Burger (Smoke Attack) war mehr als nur sehr gut und für mich eine reine Geschmacksexplosion. Das Brioche-Bun war sehr fluffig, das Fleisch perfekt gewürzt und getoppt mit leckerem Käse, die perfekte Menge an karamellisierten Zwiebeln, der Bacon superkross und zum Schluss noch die perfekte Menge an BBQ-Soße mit dem perfekten Geschmack. Alles in allem war der Burger geschmacklich mehr als perfekt und hat mich komplett abgeholt. Das war bis jetzt definitiv der beste Burger den ich je gegessen habe! Die Sour Bacon Fries waren durch die Sour Cream, die Frühlingszwiebeln und den Bacon geschmacklich ebenfalls mehr als gelungen. Die Sour Cream hatte die perfekte Konsistenz und war sehr cremig. Der Bacon war schön klein geschnitten und sehr kross. Richtig lecker! Die Truffle Parmesano Fries wurden mit einer sehr schmackhaften und zu empfehlenden Trüffel Mayo getoppt. Obwohl wir sehr entspannt und langsam gegessen haben, sind wir noch mehr als pünktlich gegangen und haben den Tisch wieder für die Reservierung freigemacht. Durch das sehr gute Essen und Trinken lässt sich definitiv das Manko der sehr schlechten Musikauswahl ausgleichen. Zum Schluss lässt sich nur sagen, dass ich definitiv wiederkommen möchte und ich hier geschmacklich mehr aus zufriedengestellt wurde. Das Jamy‘s ist nur...
