Very nice cafe and restaurant inside Westfalenpark in Dortmund with magnificent view of Florian’s Tower and water lily and lotus pond. A variety of food and snacks are offered as well as ice cream sundaes, cakes and coffee or tea. In summer, it’s great to sit at the Patio and enjoy the view of lovely flowers abounding this beautiful and huge garden which was once the venue of the Bundesgartenschau - National Horticulture Show. Kids friendly, this Café has something for children to enjoy indoor, small library and toys. But I warn you the staffs are not so friendly and service is very slow!

Also zunächst einmal vorneweg: wer Fine Dining gewohnt ist, wird in diesem Restaurant wahrscheinlich eher nicht glücklich werden. Hier findet man Gerichte wie die gute alte Currywurst bis hin zu gutbürgerlicher Küche und Nachspeisen. Das Gartenterrassen-Flair lädt dabei alle Hungrigen, die den Tag im Westfalenpark verbringen oder verbracht haben, ein, Pause zu machen, dabei etwas zu essen und zu trinken und danach gesättigt weiterzuziehen. Ähnlich, wie Restaurants im Schwimmbad oder im Schrebergarten. Hunde sind ebenfalls erlaubt. Die KellnerInnen waren sehr freundlich und wir wurden flott bedient. Zu Essen gab es Käsespätzle mit Beilagensalat für 9,80€ (wobei die Schnitzel auch sehr gut aussahen!). Preislich meiner Meinung nach völlig in Ordnung. Uns hat es auf jeden Fall geschmeckt und satt geworden sind wir auch. Allgemein könnte man bestimmt mehr aus diesem Restaurant machen, gerade oben die Fassade/das weiße Dach sieht schon sehr renovierungsbedürftig aus.

Wir hatten 2 Kaffee, eine Waffel mit Schokolade sowie den warmen Apfelstrudel mit einer Kuger Eis. Naja, der Apfelstrudel war aus der Kühltheke und die Eiskugel war schon recht klein. Geschmacklich noch ok, habe aber auch schon besseres gegessen. Die Waffel hat gut geschmeckt . Trotzdem eine klare Empfehlung von uns. (Die Preise sind wie überall recht hoch. wir haben für 2 Tassen Kaffee, die Waffel und den Apfelstrudel ca. 19,- gezahlt. Nur zur Orientierung ob man sich das gönnen will....)

Very bad customer service. During CoVid they only sell take-outs. We ordered fries and bratwurst with fries. When we paid the guy didn't give us the ketchup in packets as we ordered, we didn't even know that they give out ketchup when you pay. When the food was ready, the lady told us that we should have gotten our ketchup, but we didn't! She asked the guy at the cashier and he had the audacity to say that he had already given us the ketchup, but he didn't! Why would a customer lie about not receiving ketchup in packets?? How difficult it is to just be nice to your customer?? In the end the lady just tossed us ONE packet of ketchup as if they were doing us a favor for both portions of food that we paid. The food wasn't even good and we thought we could support their business in times like these! For someone who doesn't speak fluent German this kind of thing is very frustrating because you feel like your voice doesn't matter even when you try very hard to explain in German, they still treat you badly....

Even we ordered a dish cooked in the oven we got a cold one. Also l, tuna salad was seem to be a soup with a lot yogurth. We asked to pay the bill with card and the waiter asked if there is debt card because they don't accept credit cards. I told him that we have debt card and i trt to pay with this one and it was declined because it was a Visa card, i tryed to pay with Master card but also it wasn't accepted and the waiter told us that he doesn't have time to try another payement so we must pay only cash. Take care, possible...
