Gaststätte Lindentor — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

They have all the ingredients of becoming a fine family restaurant. Food is great, staff works hard and the atmosphere is fine.

However it’s too chaotic. Everything is still done on paper. And they are just too succesful to be this inefficiënt.

Now the waitress has to write food and drinks bring it to the bar and the other receipt to the kitchen. Which is at the other side. The kitchen will probably have all those handwritten notes not in order either.

Meaning food did not get served at the same time.

These inefficiencies also lead to longer waiting times. An properly set-up POS system would solve all those issues. And give the waitresses more time to properly cater to the guests. Which they’ve proven to me perfectly capable of doing.

I can know given we have run into the same issues in the past.

1st time being here just for having a drink while enjoying the afternoon and found this lovely place. Have actually passed by this place very often due to its location very near to where we live and did not really pay attention until we decided to come inside after we had routine short afternoon walk in the nearby park. Fall in love at first sight when we enter the restaurant. Really cozy vibe and lighting which we do like it. We then ordered 1 glass of white wine and 2 beers to enjoy our time. Service is super. The man who served us understood our difficulty to communicate in German as we are foreigner hence he spoke very slowly to my children when we put our order which made our time more enjoyable. Ich war schon einmal vor der Corona-Pandemie mit einer größeren Gruppe in der Gaststätte Lindentor. Schon damals haben uns die Qualität des Essens und die Freudlichkeit der Bedienung gefallen.

Außerdem ist die Gaststätte Lindentor mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet. Helle Holztische, dunkle Holzstühle und ein paar nette Design-Elemente wie eine E-Gitarre, die von einem verstorbenen Stammgast geschent wurde, zieren den Innenraum. Es herrscht also eine gediegene Brauhaus-Atmosphäre!

Nun also unser zweiter Besuch und was soll ich sagen? Wir waren rundum zufrieden! Ich hatte ein Cordon Bleu mit Kroketten und kleinem Salat für 16,90 Euro. Leckeres Schweinefleisch, tolle Panade und Schinken und zerlaufener Käse nicht zu salzig - so muss das sein. Abgesehen mal davon war das eine echte Männerportion.

Meine Freunde hatten Jägerschnitzel, Hawaii-Schnitzel (mit Ananas und Käse), Lindentor-Schnitzel (mit Bacon) sowie Haxenpfännchen mit Sauerkraut und Kartoffelpüree und waren ebenfalls alle satt und zufrieden.

Vom Fass gibt es in der Gaststätte Lindentor zwar nur Schlösser Alt, aber das wird ordentlich gezapft. Alternativ gibt es Schlüssel Alt in Bügelflaschen oder Radeberger Pilsener zu trinken.

Positiv ist zudem, dass man in der Gaststätte Lindentor mit der EC-Karte (alias V-Pay bzw. Girocard) bezahlen kann. Früher ging, glaube ich,...
