One of the worst Chinese food ever. How can you make it this bad. We, as a family of 4 , ordered vegetarian dishes. My wife even spoke to them in Mandarin w.r.t. the order for takeaway, but to my utter dismay, every single one of them tasted overwhelmingly of seafood. It became apparent that the culprit behind this nightmarish meal was the reused oil used in the cooking process.Upon realizing the unpleasant taste, I immediately contacted the restaurant to express my disappointment and seek a resolution. However, their response left me astounded. They simply shrugged off my concerns, claiming that they couldn't do anything to rectify the situation. It was as if my dissatisfaction was of no consequence to them.
It is unacceptable for any establishment, especially one in the food industry, to disregard the concerns and complaints of their customers in such a callous manner. As a paying customer, I expected a certain level of quality and professionalism that was sorely lacking in this case.
The fact that vegetarian dishes were tainted with the taste of seafood suggests a complete disregard for proper food preparation and hygiene practices. Reusing oil to the extent that it imparts a strong seafood flavor to vegetarian dishes is not only highly unappetizing but also raises concerns about cross-contamination and potential health hazards.
Not only was the taste of the food completely ruined, but the entire experience left me feeling incredibly frustrated and disheartened. To make matters worse, I was left with no other choice but to throw away the entire order, resulting in a waste of both money and food.
In conclusion, my experience with this Chinese takeaway was nothing short of a nightmare. The use of reused oil that transformed vegetarian dishes into seafood-flavored concoctions, coupled with the restaurant's indifference to my complaint, has left me with a sour taste in my mouth both figuratively...
Read moreWe stayed just around the corner and happened to walk by Opin in Düsseldorf – the place looked both authentic and cozy, with a lovely outdoor seating area.
From the moment we sat down, the service was outstanding. Our waiter had a great sense of humor and created such a warm atmosphere, despite the fact that his English wasn’t much better than his German… und mein Deutsch ist auch nicht perfekt 😄. Somehow, it only made the whole experience even more charming.
The atmosphere? Tip-top – clean, inviting, and with a great vibe. The food arrived surprisingly fast. If I have to be critical, the speed might have slightly compromised the depth of flavor in some dishes – but honestly, that’s nitpicking. Coming from Denmark, where sushi standards are unfairly high, I just found it amusing to see whole surimi sticks served instead of shredded. Not bad at all – just different.
The miso soup was tasty, the fried shrimp had a perfect crisp (knusprig, wie es sein muss), and the miso ramen hits the spot.
Overall, Opin delivered a wonderful evening and is absolutely worth a visit if you’re in Düsseldorf. Vielen Dank für den...
Read moreWe were greeted nicely upon entering and had a choice to sit at a nice corner. We ordered a sushi bento box, noodle dish with tempura, gyoza, tuna salad, kimchi, crispy chicken sushi and soup. If you plan to eat here, I would suggest to take their ramen because it was the best amongst the dishes we ordered. The rice of the sushi was just so-so. I personally think the rice isn't on point. All in all, we had a good experience because the staff...
