Do not misinterpret- this is a 5 star restaurant, all the way in terms of quality.

The interior is welcoming, designed with care and appreciation for the U.S. frontier style, but not to the extent that it overwhelms and becomes a parody like other restaurants, falling into a trap of just throwing out as much stereotypical objects it can get its hands on.

The staff is wonderful, explaining the different varieties of cuts to newcomers (thought you will eventually have to use google for assistance), and you will truly appreciate it if you are versed in beef.

It's a restaurant that knows it has quality, and is not afraid to express it. It's a steakhouse by definition, but it can match most high end restaurants in Essen by class.

So why the 3 stars? Obviously the price. I don't mind paying extra for good food, and this is a place that treats it's food with love and devotion; but if you check the images, the second one is from Gordon Ramsay's restaurants. We are talking about Gordon Ramsay prices here. It's good food, but not Gordon Ramsay good.

Will I be returning? Probably, yes. But that 10-15+ extra euros you have to pay per plate makes this restaurant a bi-monthly excursion instead of a bi-weekly outing, if...

edit because google and the establishment are biased. This ACTUALLY happened

Would give 0 if I could! I don’t even know where to start with this one! Stopped off on a cycle tour across Europe raising money for children’s cancer.

Food, and establishment was amazing. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. However, at the end whilst sorting out the bill, our group was 50 cents short. Whilst the waiter wasn’t looking, myself and some others put an extra 10 euros each in (to make a tip as well). The waiter went absolutely crazy at us. Shouting, and even threatening one of our party. Even pushing and shoving a member of our group. This gentleman should NOT be working here.

The manager and chef came and spoke to us, and were very apologetic. But, it’s such a shame. I was ready to write a 5 star review, but when our group is abused and assaulted from a member of staff, making people cry from our group….all over 50 cents….it does not even warrant a...

This was without a doubt the worst steakhouse I’ve ever been too. They literally didn’t know how to prepare a steak. We ordered two rib eye steaks, one medium, the other well done. They both came out very very rare. We sent them back so they could cook more. Then they came again still both rare. The photo shows the steak that’s supposed to be well done AFTER we had already sent it back.

We also ordered a Caesar’s Salad as a starter and it was the wirst I’ve ever had. The dressing clearly came from a supermarket and wasn’t made fresh. It also had tomatoes and cucumbers in it which is very strange.

We left without eating even a single bite of our steaks. We still had to pay for all the sides (which we also didn’t touch) and the bottle of wine we had ordered (too warm by the way).

This restaurant should not be in business. Sorry to be so direct, but you our Friday...
