Five days ago, my wife, in-laws, and I visited this restaurant as a potential venue for our wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, the service was slow, with our drinks arriving after half an hour—a surprising delay, especially by German standards. On the positive side, the food tasted excellent, and the atmosphere was charming, making for a pleasant dining experience overall.
However, the night took a downturn when three of us experienced sudden and severe stomach issues shortly after we got home. Notably, we had all ordered the tuna filet, which was quite raw in the middle, as is traditionally expected for this dish. We didn't notice anything unusual at the time. Still, after eliminating other possible causes, we reached out to the restaurant for an explanation. While the receptionist was friendly, a representative from the kitchen called us the next day, insisting that their food was perfectly safe. We didn't hear from them afterwards.
This was the first time any of us had such an intense reaction after a meal, and it was a disappointing experience, especially after spending €260 in total, with each filet priced at €37. While there's not much more I can do, I felt it was important to share this experience...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious food, we were exceptionally surprised as this is a hotel restaurant but don't let that fool you.
Firstly, the ingredients are locally sourced and the menu therefore changes which is a nice surprise for guests and staff alike.
Secondly, every single dish we had from the handmade bread and butter to the salad and finally the ox tail and meatballs.... stunning, well presented and delicious
The decor could use an update but the passion and food from the chef and kitchen are some of the best we've had in years and that includes a 2 star in champagne region
We are so very happy we decided to dine here, a great part of our...
