A week ago, my friends and I finally tried this place. I think it was an Italian restaurant before and probably just around March last year, when the pandemic and lockdown got going, that’s when it became this noodle house. So, unfortunately, probably not many people or even the Frankfurt-West locals don’t know about this place...yet!

I ordered the hand-pulled noodles with the beef goulash, coriander (if you don’t like coriander, I am quite you can request for it to be omitted) and vegetables. Be aware this is a mildly-middle spicy dish, depending on your tolerance. It does look small, as it is in a takeaway container and as you can see in my photo the noodles are hidden, but believe me they were there - filling and delicious! I had my first mouthfuls and I was already saying, yep, I’m ordering this again!! The noodles were authentic and chewy.

I also ordered an entrée of Guotie - a very scrumptious fried dumpling with pork and vegetables inside. There is another option on the menu to order Guotie with beef instead. Again, just so delicious and fresh!!

My friends ordered number 34 - hand-pulled noodles with teriyaki chicken, roasted onions, sesame, vegetables and spring onions - and number 43 - sour-spicy dumpling soup with pork, spring onions, vegetables and coriander - they too were satisfied!

So, if you’re in the mood for authentic noodles/dumplings/soup, try it out! You can go to the restaurant and order the takeaway there and then. However, you can call and order ahead, so you can just time your arrival so you don’t have to wait around so long in the restaurant or outside in the cold. Due to corona, it is pick-up only. Also payment methods are only cash or PayPal. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Also, we picked up and were able to walk back home, with the food being still warm. If you live further away, since it is quite cold at the moment, I would bring an extra bag to put your food in, to keep it...

Maybe arrived with overly high expectations based on (currently) a 4.8 stars rating on Maps, but my meal was entirely mediocre.

I arrived for an early weekday lunch and walked to an empty restaurant. No one behind the counter, only a few noises from the kitchen. I yelled "Hello?" a few times until 5 minutes later, someone finally showed up. Interactions with the server remained far and few between.

Out of the dishes I ordered, the pork bao were unavailable, so I got the Guotie instead. Additionally, I got the Xiao Long Bao.

Presentation was nice enough, and the quality did seem fine (not frozen), but it certainly didn't scream "made in-house" to me.

The guotie were nicely spiced, steaming hot, but not very crispy. The filling was flavorful, fatty, well spiced and sour. The black sesame on top was a nice touch.

The Xiao Long Bao were fine, but the broth had very little flavor and texture. Certainly not as bone brothy as I know them from other places. The skin texture had very little bite.

The nangua bing for dessert were fine. Not crispy, quite greasy, not quite hot all the way through, so obviously the frying oil wasn't hot enough.

Overall, a total disappointment, especially for the price. A fine meal, but nothing to go out of...

Eigentlich streng genommen...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at A Casa Lamian, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience. From the moment I entered, the ambiance was delightful, with warm and inviting decor that created a cozy atmosphere. The attention to detail in every aspect of the meal was commendable. The toppings were fresh and expertly arranged, providing an explosion of flavors with each bite. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring a seamless dining experiences. The exceptional quality of the food, coupled with the inviting ambiance and attentive service, makes it a must-visit. I highly recommend trying their delectable ramen creations. You won't be disappointed!" I hope you find this review helpful!
