We spent a week in Italy for holiday before our stay at Redisson Blu Hotel. This was our last night of holiday so we wanted to celebrate it with a luxurious room and dinner. Parking was easy to find. Know that you need a green environment sticker on your car for Frankfurts environment zone! Also the receptionist was very friendly. I asked through my booking to reserve at the restaurant but this was not arranged. There was plenty of space so we could just sit wherever we wanted. The room was nice and had a great panaroma view. At the restaurant, we were not welcomed by the staff. Know that it was not busy the entire evening. So we placed ourselves on a high table. This was too high for us compared to the chairs so we moved to a lower table. The waiter asked if he could help us and we both told him that we wanted to have dinner. After 7 minutes he brought us a menu. We chose a bottle of pinot grigio. The bottle was presented on a high platform with a wine cooler and ice. There was no pre tasting. We said we still needed a minute to beside what to eat. We closed our menu and after 10 minutes we still hadn’t ordered. The waiter was just chilling at the bar. So I decided to ask for us to order. The waiter then said he thought we only wanted to have drink despite we told him 3 times to have dinner. We were not amused and the waiter was very apathetic. No smile, only a tired face and constantly shuffling on the ground. After we took our order we got a new waitress for the rest of the evening. The bartender. We had the feeling that the original waiter did not want to help us any longer. This was very weird. The girl was nice. Very helpful and kind. After the mains we wanted to have a smoke outside and told this to the male worker. I also told him that we wanted to have another bottle of wine. “To take to the room?” He replied. No, just to drink at our table. We also wanted to have dessert. “You should have told me earlier, because now the kitchen is closed.” I was perplexed. No mention of the kitchen about to close and no final round of drinks. Because when we hadn’t even finished our bottle, the light was already dimmed. The food was great, the menu is not very diverse and the service was lacking. Not at all what you would expect from a 4 star hotel as a worker in hospitality myself. The pool was nice and opens early. You do have to go through the gym with your bath towel… breakfast was also nice. Someone forgot to put the bowls on the buffet. These were added once I asked for it. The staff of the hotel was very friendly. The restaurant should have a look into their staff because this was just unheard of.

I travel for work regularly, spending more than 60 nights a year in hotels. I normally stay in Hilton brand hotels but for this trip to Frankfurt the meeting organizers asked attendees to stay in the Radisson Blu Frankfurt. I have never stayed in a Radisson Blu before but the website and decent reviews made me think this was going to be a good experience. I was wrong and since this was my first impression with Radisson Blu, I doubt I would ever stay in one of their properties again. The lobby and public spaces were nicely designed and staff at check-in were friendly. But my room was very disappointing. The room temperature was very warm. The air conditioning control did not indicate the temperatures you could select but I had it set as low as possible and the room would never get comfortable. I was told by the front desk staff that the air conditioning in the room would not go below 22C but it felt much warmer than that. You could not open the hotel window (understandable since it is a tall building) but the hotel does not even have fans available for guests who would like the room cooler. Several other guests who attended the same meeting as I did also said their rooms were very room. You can always use blankets to get warmer but there is nothing you can do to get cooler without a fan or something similar. For this reason alone I would never recommend this hotel but there were a few other examples that contribute to my poor rating. There was no soap or shampoo in my room upon check-in. Luckily, they did bring some after I asked but this should be something that housekeep quality control covers before each room is made avilable. Two of my colleagues also had the same problem. Another issue were the towels in the room. Very low quality for this type of hotel. Finally, there was an issue with my bill upon check-out. My meeting ended early and I was able to fly home one day early. I mentioned to the front desk the night prior that I would be checking out the next morning, one day early. The following morning I had to leave for the airport at 5am. There was nobody at the front desk but one of the employees told me to leave my key in the box at the front desk and they would email me the receipt. When I got home I contacted the hotel a few days later because I never received the receipt. When I did, they charged me for the last night. I questioned them and they had no record of me checking out a day early. It wasn't worth the hassle of trying to dispute so I just accepted the fact that I would need to pay for the last night.

This is a nice Hotel, but let's itself down in a few of areas, which is such a shame (hence only 4 stars 🫤) Hotel location is good, about 15 mins (€30) in an Uber from the Airport 👍 First impressions of the hotel are good, it looks clean, nicely decorated and has a spacious Lobby 👍 Then the 1st 'negative' - Checking in. Whether there are 2 or 20 people waiting to Check in, it is just so slowww 💤👎 Generally I only ever saw one Person working Reception, this is bad 🫤 The Bedrooms are good with plenty of space, Beds are comfortable and rooms have big Windows with nice views of Frankfurt 👍 The Storage in the Rooms is poor, I attribute this to 'bad design' as the Rooms could accommodate more Storage - This isn't a big issue though. A 2nd Negative - The bedroom Air-con is just terrible 👎 it just blows semi cool air no matter what Temperature you select. I happened to stay during a mini Heatwave in Frankfurt (37C outside) and the Room was sweltering🥵, this led to me having a terrible sleep there👎☹️ The Bar is good and sells nice draught Pilsner, it also does food and whilst it doesn't have a large Menu, the food it serves is very good 👍 Breakfast is quite good too, with lots of variety of hot food, cold meats, cereals, fruit etc.. And lastly the 3rd Negative - The Drains 🤢 they stink! You could smell them in the Toilets near Reception, the Outside Seating area for the Hotel Bar, or sometimes in my Bathroom. It was just not good, they need to get them looked at 👎 Overall it's not a bad hotel, I would probably stay here again if the 'negatives' I found are rectified (and hopefully will be 😉)

Our stay can only be described as disappointing. This is in stark contrast to our stay last year.

Whilst the price increased somewhat, the level of service drastically decreased. Of special note in this regard is the housekeeping. Depending on the day an acceptable job was done whilst on others it left much to be desired. After our first night we came back to find our door left opened. I reported this incident to reception who assured me that it would be mentioned to housekeeping. However, the next day the same thing happened. Again I had to queue nearly 20 minutes to speak to the manager, because the person at the front desk would have me wait then call the manager as I politely requested. After speaking to the young lady about this she agreed to compensate us and the door was shut the rest of the days we stayed, but in no moment was there any further mention of the incident nor did anybody come to check or fix the door.

Additionally, on over half the days only decaf coffee (with the red dot on the capsule) was left in the room, which negates the value of having and paying extra for a room with a nespresso machine. After asking for two days in a row for regular coffee and see that no steps were taken to remedy the situation, I lost my will to waste my time asking again, especially after one day when I requested some tea from reception and I was told to ask at the restaurant when there was clearly a draw behind him labeled as containing tea.

Further to this, on some days a bottle of water was put in the room and others it was not, sometimes the tea was replaced and other days it wasn’t. A bottle of lotion was never left in the bathroom even though housekeeping had them and I had to again specifically ask for one. One day a cleaning rag was left in the bathroom.

I don’t know if all this is because there is not enough staff to make up the room in a way that one would expect from a 4* hotel or it’s something else, but the fact that the management didn’t show any interest in making sure that things were remedied means the problems will not be fixed in future.

As for the TV, some days I was able to connect my phone to watch content, and other days it stated on the TV that "the Apple TV is not connected". At no point during my stay were any of the Spanish language channels working, and only at some times were the English language channels available.

As for reception, it’s inconceivable that at peak hours there should only be one person working at reception with a queue of guests past the door. After a long day at the Messe, having to wait 20 minutes because I need an extra key is not ideal.

As for the sauna and pool area, whilst I will admit that there were always clean towels available, at many times the used towels were overflowing from all the bins.

On one night we decided to have a drink at the bar. We were shocked to find that the waiter taking our order didn’t seem to speak any English at all. Additionally, we were surprised when he returned with the bill and credit card reader, apparently insisting that we prepay for our drinks and not giving us the option to charge to our room. Of course we couldn't understand him so we had no choice to pay in the moment. Even in any other bar in Frankfurt you could enjoy your drinks at your leisure.

I would like to mention on a positive note that the two men at breakfast in charge of making the eggs, one with a ponytail and other larger gentleman, were friendly and attentive.

In conclusion, more than a guest I felt like I was a burdensome house guest asking a favour from a friend to stay 8 nights at their house. I therefore will probably not be considering your hotel...
