Friedberger Warte — Restaurant in Frankfurt

This restaurant is separate but part of the hotel across the street.

Our first visit, food was delicious. Upon receipt of the bill, the waiter rudely informed us that tip was not included. We always tip but the rude reminder was uncalled for.

Our second visit, we asked the receptionist at the hotel if the restaurant was open before walking over. She said it was. As we rounded the corner of the restaurant we heard the beer garden door shut, but it was unsecure. We were quickly approached by the same waiter mentioned above and he advised us to wait outside 2 MINUTES because they opened at 5pm. He persisted to shoo us out, slammed the gate and loudly locked it behind us. Meanwhile, we witnessed another couple already seated in the garden area. Instead of rushing us out the door, he COULD have offered us a table and gave us time to look over the menu before serving us and that would have been totally acceptable to us. He really needs to work on his customer service and manners. Needless to say, we weren’t going to wait 2 minutes when we were treated so rudely.

I would recommend this location for the food and atmosphere alone with the caveat to make sure you tip, don’t show up 2 MINUTES early and expect to be...

We took our own atmosphere to this place as that made a good evening as we had most of the place booked out. Food was tasty although portions were small and, frankly, I can make better Schnitzels. Service to tables was good and friendly - although the man running the place was hostile to the point of rudeness (which is odd as his colleagues were friendly and they were making a load of money from over 60 of us). He actually does not seem to like customers - or perhaps just the British. Had to wait well over an hour for pre-ordered food (including for 30 11 and 12 year olds who were starving after a full day of sport) as they clearly wanted to sell as many drinks as they could first. Your staff gotta learn some English first of all! And second of all some other nationalities come from countries where is not mandate to get a third dose. Omg! Educate your personnel st least about that people gotta have at least 6 months on getting third dose! Ridiculous!! FYI. I’m US citizen and my mother has fled Ukraine. We just to get have some hot meal and yet we weren’t allowed to come in. Your employee wasn’t even able to read her passport even though it really states her name/surname on English. He kind of made a big favor for us to let us stay but our mood was completely ruined. Thankfully we met a very nice German man in McDonald’s and he have a lot of gratis for us because he learned she’s from Ukraine. So...
