Café Menthe — Restaurant in Frankfurt

I recently visited Café Menthe in Frankfurt, drawn in by its stunning decor and inviting atmosphere. The interior is beautifully designed, creating a warm and cozy space that feels perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. Unfortunately, the charm of the place did not translate to the food experience.

To start with the positives, I did enjoy the lentil soup, which was flavorful and comforting, and the lemon cake, which was light and zesty. Sadly, those were the only highlights of the meal. The rest of the menu was a major letdown. The salad and oriental mix I ordered were bland and uninspired, lacking flavor and freshness. To top it off, the matcha latte was, quite honestly, the worst I’ve ever had — bitter, watery, and just unpleasant.

Overall, despite its beautiful ambiance, this café fell far short of expectations. The food was boring and flavorless, and the pricing left a bad taste in my mouth. It’s a shame, but I won’t...

Very lovely floral cafe little away from the city center. They have a variety of cakes that seem to be rotated with different flavors. I think most of them are also vegan cakes (the avocado one for sure). I had the most popular avocado cake, which was just okay and peach yogurt cake. Peach yogurt is the winner!! It was not 'not too sweet' but good amount of sweetness and the peach chucks added freshness to the cake. This may be a seasonal flavor but it's my number one recommendation.

✨ Frühstück & Kuchen Das Café bietet eine große Frühstücksauswahl mit klassischen und kreativen Optionen. Besonders empfehlenswert: das Menemen – eine leckere türkische Spezialität! Ich finde die Auswahl abwechslungsreich und sehr lecker.

Mein (Kuchen-)Tipp: Neben der Kuchenvitrine gibt es oft noch zusätzliche Blechkuchen oder versteckte Leckereien hinter dem Tresen – also unbedingt darauf achten bzw. nachfragen! 🤓

☕ Kaffee & Atmosphäre Der Kaffee wird mit einer hochwertigen Siebträgermaschine zubereitet, und die Bohnen stammen von Wacker’s Kaffee! Das Café liegt direkt neben einem Blumenladen, und das Thema Blumen zieht sich charmant durch die Dekoration. 🌸

⚠️ Hinweis & Verbesserungsvorschlag Zu typischen Kaffee- und Kuchenzeiten kann es ziemlich voll werden. In der Hochphase dauert es manchmal etwas länger, bis der Kaffee zum Kuchen serviert wird. Der Service ist jedoch freundlich und aufmerksam, auch wenn die Kaffeezubereitung in Spitzenzeiten etwas unterbesetzt wirkt. Insofern sollte man bisschen Geduld mitbringen 😊

💡 Mein Vorschlag an das Team: Es wäre super, wenn Kartenzahlung am Tisch möglich wäre, um den Ablauf noch angenehmer zu gestalten.
