Homburger Hof Frankfurt am Main — Restaurant in Frankfurt

I was here in early December for a birthday gathering, and actually had been here in 2018 when they were showing the World Cup.

I absolutely love this place.

I am absolutely sure that this is THE BEST schnitzel in Deutschland. No joke.

Just order the Frankfurt Schnitzel and it is absolutely perfect - the schnitzel and the grüne Soße is generous, the potatoes are a few, but I don’t mind (I usually can never finish the side potatoes in a German meal, it’s just not a normal portion) - but the crumb is just sooooo delicious and perfect. I cannot go on about it enough!

Friends also ordered other things, like the Käsespätzle and they were delicious too.

Things to remember: reserve ahead for big groups or for Friday/weekend evenings. Parking can be an issue so public transport is advisable. If you bike there, there is a space in the driveway to lock your bicycle.

I highly recommend that you go here, it is perfect. I can’t wait...

Went with colleagues from work for dinner and to play some nine-pin bowling or Kegel as it's called in Germany. It was near impossible to find parking on this narrow street so we all ended up parking on the street a few blocks away. The place although neither new nor modern was very cozy, and our waitress was very young and helpful. The atmosphere is created by whoever is along as there is no music or entertainment per sat, there was an old radio that we turned on and the waitress itself was surprised and mentioned "she didn't even know that worked"( we also thought it was a decoration at the beginning. Nevertheless we had a great time and the food was very delicious. Food btw consist mostly on schnitzel and...

Wir waren heute zum ersten und letzten Mal im Homburger Hof. Eigentlich hatten wir uns auf einen schönen Restaurantbesuch gefreut, doch irgendwie schien das Ganze schon zum Scheitern verurteilt, als ich vorab anrief, um zu fragen, ob es noch freie Plätze gibt. Schon am Telefon hatte ich das Gefühl, dass die Person leicht genervt war.

Das Essen selbst war wirklich lecker, und der Service durch die Kellnerin war top – sie war unglaublich freundlich und bemüht. Doch ab dem Nachtisch ging es bergab. Der hausgemachte Schokopudding (7,50 €) sah wenig ansprechend aus, aber entscheidend war der Geschmack – und der war enttäuschend. Statt nach Schokolade schmeckte er verbrannt und stark nach Kaffee. Selbst der billigste Pudding aus jedem Supermarkt hätte um ein Vielfaches besser geschmeckt.

Als wir das ansprachen, nahm die Kellnerin unser Anliegen ernst, doch der Chef reagierte völlig verständnislos. Anstatt Einsicht oder Verständnis zu zeigen, fing er an, mit uns zu diskutieren, dass der Pudding eben so sei, wie er ist. Gerade wenn man knapp 70 € für ein Essen zu zweit ausgibt, beschwert man sich sicher nicht grundlos über 7,50 €. Obwohl er nach eigener Verkostung unser Feedback nachvollziehen konnte, bestand er darauf, den ungenießbaren Nachtisch voll zu berechnen.

Fazit: Gutes Essen und ein toller Service von der Kellnerin, aber der Umgang mit Kritik hinterlässt einen faden Beigeschmack. Wir werden definitiv nicht...
